Gravel would have been a much better candidate than Barr. Among other things, it would have helped to break the whole notion of libertarianism as a variant of conservatism, rather than a clear alternative to both the current right and left.
Beyond that, Gravel is just a good guy, one of the few truly honorable and courageous politicians of the past 50 years.
I liked Michael Jingozian when I first heard him speak and realized he UNDERSTANDS the National Initiative (NI). The libertarians, in general, don't seem to understand either the NI or the two candidates of their party...strange isn't it?
Libertarians perfectly understand the dangers of a federal democracy just like our founders did. The NI4D is understood as a way to give power to 51% of the voters, not even 51% of the people just those who vote, about 21%. Libertarian understood exactly the kind of mob rule that a federal democracy leads to. I do not understand how Gravel supporters lack this piece of historic fact. Centralized democracys turn to despotism very easily. The important part of the system is constitutional limits.
The Libertarian Party blew it! I understand that Senator Gravel is frustrated but so are all of us. Any chance you could talk the Senator into running as an Independent? In any event, thank you for supporting Mike Gravel.

I guess Bob Parr is lesser evil enough that I'll vote for him. He just gradually flip flopped tho, oh well.

The lesser of evils is still evil.

It's such a shame that you and Senator Gravel didn't make it for a joint ticket. And even more of a shame that the neocons have taken over the party.
Thank you!

too many conservatives control the party. they look at Mike like he's a liberal. a "l-i-b-e-r-a-l" in the "L-i-b-e-r-t-a-r-i-a-n" party.
