I'm sorry but you're not playing it correctly. Close but no cigar. You want to be sliding on the G string, not the D :). Take a look at my Tim McGraw video for a better look. Sounds good anyway, though!

pluck the open a string - hammer on the second fret x2

pluck open e string - hammer on the third fret

strum the full g chord a few times

pluck E string holding third fret, pluck A string and hammer on second fret, pluck open A

then strum the EADG strings and hammer on an Em chord.
