  • Idea: It's not like the UK was forced to watch the show, so shut the fuck up.

  • let's see - a happy ending [the difference between the US ending - MUCH better], they end up on Mars, our hero doesn't try and off himself. yeah, baby ! it only would have been better if Sam went for Windy after the 450'th time she threw herself at him. oh well, can't have everything....

  • Watch the UK version or jump off a building like Sam did

  • That was just SO WEAK! I guess I should have expected that from an American remake. Thinking about it I wouldn't have be surprised if they had woken up in an episode of the The Colbys.

  • WTF!!!

  • I'm sorry but it's just so wrong, Gene would NEVER hug Sam in a million years, even if sam was his son

  • I've stopped at 9:17. I can't take it anymore. I just can't. How on earth could anyone approve this ending? Is so very awful in so many ways...

  • WTF?!?!?!!?

  • I can do a better female computer voice and I'm a bloke. And injecting dodgy politics in it? WTF? As if any Obama would be president years from now after all the current one has done to wreck the USA!

  • I thought this show was awesome but it only lasted a couple years. I didn't even know it was British first. Don't hate on me because I'm an American. Believe me, I hate what this country has done as much as you guys.

  • @whatever3210 I think that's the main problem - Americans (the TV producers) taking British films, doing remakes, and not even having the decency to credit the original.

  • damn americans! how could you fuck up something as awesome as Life On Mars???

  • (continued) Unfortunately, even the BBC is starting to copy this annoying trend of axing good shows (Outcast, anyone?) due to ratings fetishes. Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes is a rare success story, in an age when the BBC is often unwilling to take risks. Most good series today are rarely more than 3/4 episodes long. Public television is about providing a service, not generating profits.

Fuck you John Birt, may you burn in hell for your crimes against the license fee-payer.

  • This is what commercial television does. Producers panicking and cancelling shows due to 'low' ratings always leaves fans furious at being left in the lurch. So now storylines are often wrapped up prematurely to prevent accusations of leaving stories unfinished, even if it impacts negatively on the original story.

  • [zombieradar] Harry Potter, nearly all of America knows about it and all of them love it. Even the half of America that is braindead still claps and gurns when they hear the theme music. The entire cast was British you mugs. Leave us alone.

  • To all those who are saying that the show was rubbish for it being all a dream:

Are you sure it was a dream? What was the shoe about?

Anyway, even if you didn't like the ending, I thought it was a really good remake overall.

  • Rather an ending like this then a Deus Ex Machina like God. That'd be messed up.

  • This is very stupid. Can't believe it ended this way. Glad I gave in and watched this while I was 4 episodes in. It seemed interesting at first but I read some bad reviews. I see why now.

  • Screenwrighters were on LSD, I swear.

  • what.

  • Americans shall burn

  • In all fairness, would you rather have a shot for shot remake? Granted the cop-out, it was all a dream in space thing, was an awkward way to end it. Plus they addressed the idea that he prefers the 70s in a much more simplistic way (showed him the consequences of returning with his relationship with Annie) without the intended suicide. I'd also like to think Space Annie's neuro-sim was the 70s world that Sam crashed into.

  • is funny i just watched the end of ashes to ashes and the fact that is so awsome makes this even more shitty.

also, there is a spanish remake of the series, is calld la chica de ayer ( the girl from yesterday) is not as good as the original but sure as hell is better that this crap

  • My favorite show of all time. Just wonderful. For you chaps across the pond, get over it.

  • pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you took a great show and pissed on the bones... my GOD!! DID THEY ACTUALLY WAIT FOR ASHES TO ASHES???!!! TYPICAL YANKS, RUIN A GREAT STORY...ITS ABOUT DEATH...!!!!!!!! GENE, AND SAM AND BOLLY KNICKERS (DRAKE)AND CHRIS AND SHAZ AND RAY!!!!!!!!!! FUCKING SEPTIC TANKS..LEAVE OUR TV ALONE FOR FOOKS SAKE!

  • What the fuck is with American television and their crazy obsession with the moon, NASA and space? Seriously, as a British person, I admit America are excellent with animated comedy, but stuff like this, what a mistake, it's corny beyond belief. Every remake of a British programme they attempt at, always fails, appart from the U.S office, which doesn't even interest me in the first place. I love you guys, but please sort it out America!

  • What....what the hell was that? :|

  • holy shit that is fucking awful!

  • That's a rubbish ending.

  • much worse than uk version i have to say. although the us english is easier for me to understand.. :(

  • FUCK THE U.S.A. all the acting is dull and kid friendly, in the U.K. we make good original shit, not some shitty remakes, Long live the U.K.

  • @SmackBear2SmckCat <_< That's pretty dickish. Have you seen half the shows that air currently in the U.S.? If you haven't, you have little place to talk. But hey, if you want to be a douchebag and insult things you know little about, go ahead. I mean, shows like The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad are better than half the shows that are. But that's just me being a dick, and until I see actual shows from the U.K., I won't ACTUALLY insult a U.K. show, because i have no knowledge of any of them.

  • As a woman who experienced the role of second class citizen in the 70s (#1 in my high school graduating class but did not qualify for the biggest scholarships because only males were eligible) I love this ending!

  • omg this is shit! i was one of meny who watched the uk version on the fucking tv when it was first out! the us version is a pile of wank!

  • did you yanks really do this to one of the greatest shows the BBC ever did??? pathetic! you never got the point of the show, ashes to ashes ??!!! that is the worst ending ive ever seen....do yourself a favour, watch ALL the BBC series then get to the end and cry like the rest of us...for christ sake, you septics are a fucking joke.

  • @mrbolovski I was told by a friend, roughly a year ago, to check out Life On Mars. I viewed as many episodes as I could on youtube. It became my favorite show. It didn't talk down to me, didn't insult my intelligence, and had no religious undertones. When it was announced for the US, I thought "GREAT! A LoM that uses the music more popular in America! It should work, hell look at the Office!".

I quit after the second episode. We shat all over LoM. Sorry. :(

  • I don't see why stations over here can't just get the British versions of the show if they want it so much... I can't even begin to explain this.

  • Oh my god. I'm so glad I never followed this show. Whoever wrote this atrocity against the television-viewing population of my country should be hanged, and with no kind of drop that would allow for a merciful neck-snap.

I don't know anything about the original series, but I recall hearing that it was good, so that's enough to tell me that it wasn't anything like this.

  • This show is actually pretty good if you appreciate the 70s atmosphere and cases. I don't get why you judge the entire show because of an ending.

  • @0neofthem you obviously havent seen the british version. that show is a real 70's atmospheric series with a good story and cast

  • OMG seriously. This is so retarded. They actually went to Mars? Bahahahaha.

I'm glad I didn't waste my time watching the whole thing. Did the makers not feel the American viewers could handle an ambiguous ending to the series?

Anyone who wants to know what was really happening (in the original) should watch Ashes to Ashes.

  • Jason O'mara was a better Sam Tyler,Harvey Keitel was better Gene Hunt,Micheal Impeiroli better RAY etc. U.S. had a better cast and Plot but UK's ending was way better and makes sense, this show was a waste to just end like this! i watched both series,i prefer the U.S. series but the UK ending!!

  • The UK version was gritty, suspenseful and the ending left you to actually THINK/debate what could have happened to him, it wasn't just handed to you on a plate like this. My week dragged on until I could watch the next episode and my heart sunk when it finished (the same with Ashes to Ashes too).

The US version was bland, more family friendly (it didn't need to be) and the ending...?! I was told in primary school (age 10) to NEVER finish a story with 'it was all a dream'!!

  • so why didn't the American version do the Ashes to Ashes series it had a much better ending than this I think they should show the original British series over in the U.S I am sure they will say this will be alot better I mean the American do speak English so why translate it into American whether its in Manchester or Newyork

  • Oh this has nothing to do with David Bowies Life on Mars ?

  • I couldn't even watch until the end because it is so awful. I have NEVER done that for any youtube video that was 12 minutes or less .I am a massive fan of the UK series which was a genuine philosophical masterpiece.. The one saving grace this US episode has, is that it is so far removed from the REAL Life On Mars that I won't compare it in any way. It has been said here already and I will say it again. Dear America, keep your hands off British TV.

  • Oh dear. It really is crap isn't it?

  • I like this ending, its different from the usuall coma ending

  • fuck uk

  • prefer the uk ray & chris and the uk ending

  • theyve done the the inbetweeners now in america!!! sorry but you americans take and ruin our classic shows

  • NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!! WHO LET THIS HAPPEN!?!?!?!?!?!

AMERICANS, KEEP YOUR PAWS OFF DECENT BRITISH TELEVISION! THERE ISN'T MUCH OF IT LEFT, SO DON'T RUIN WHAT LITTLE THERE IS!!!

    :(

  • @avrillavigne1424 i thought it was good.

  • @avrillavigne1424 never seen the this version but from watching this,it seems like it sucks and the UK version is way better!!

  • Who is the old woman? Is it Annie or his mother. he said he used to read Gullivers travels to his mother.

  • @rayluca12 It's Annie, Sam says he used to read the book to his mother before she passed away.

  • My favorite show of all time.

  • What an awful, awful ending.

  • Unbelievable shite....

  • Oh dear. American producers/script writers really need lessons in subtlety.

"Bowie.. Why is it always about Bowie?". Bahaha. I mean, really?

  • So FUCKING BULLSHIT ENDNG!!!

  • @srita764

    But she's THE ONE!!!

  • When there is a sucsessful and brilliant show made in America, we air it here in Britain. When there is a sucsessful and brilliant show made in Britain, America choose to remake it, then air their shitty version. What gets me the most is that, from what I understand, most American viewers disliked the remaking of the show! It's absurd!

  • @carameltoff I will point out two exceptions: The Office and Being Human. Both had the original writers and at least in The Office's case Ricky Gervais co-produced it.

  • @Kharandis I haven't seen either so I shall take you're word for it. I am a huge fan of Being Human so I would be incredibly disappointed if it had been ruined like so many decent British shows.

  • @carameltoff We never messed with Doctor Who and Starz kept the original Torchwood crew.

  • @sprent2922 Just because America didn't fuck up EVERY single decent tv show we make doesn't make what I'm saying invalid. I think the American reboot of Tourchwood completely altered the tone of the show, but that is up to personal opinion; I still watched it. As I said before, we broadcast good American shows here. Heroes, V, Glee, Chuck the list goes on and on. But you can name two shows, one of which is a spin-off of the other, that America braodcast over there. Great.

  • I looooooooooooooove this show. <333 Haha.

The ending completely threw me for a loop, but I still liked it. It was neat.

  • Oh. My. God. How horrible is that ending. I'm so not gonna watch the US version. Not that I ever consider doing it anyway but.. They should pass a law so that American people are not allowed to ruin wonderfull things like Life On Mars.

  • Well that was stupid, was it so hard not to keep the original ending?

  • Thank God it was Cancelled and Stay away from Ashes to Ashes

  • Is it possible to like both? Things are always changed when they are remade. Would you expect a japanese version to say "Bloody hell"? If they hadn't changed it, why would they remake it? Besides, this wasn't the ending they wanted. It got canceled.

  • @Kharandis If it's going to be so different then why remake it in the first place? There was no need! Surely you understand that this was a brilliant piece of British television that Britain was proud to have produced, then an American television company came along and turned out this piece of shit that practically made a mockery of the original.

  • I don't get it. Why people are saying shit about this show? It's a fine show, I really liked it. What the fuck is the problem about US making their version of an UK show? WHY THE FUCK DO YOU ALL JUST SAY EVERYTHING US DOES IS SHIT? I'm brazilian, btw, so I'm like... standing on this fight from outside. The british here are just beeing assholes. It's a good show. If it's better or not from the UK version... WHO THE FUCK CARES?! JUST WATCH OR DON'T WATCH IT, DUMBASSES

  • @undudster Agreed i perfered this ending than the one to something like lost because at least this one summarizes everything instead of leaving things unhashed.

  • Dear America, Stay away from British shows... Thanks x

  • @Dazofcaving123 You should be honored, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Be happy that the U.K. produces stories that people actually want to share.

  • I first saw the original Life On Mars, and then this American version. I think that the original ending was better, but this was a fun ending too. I like that it's different.

  • I saw this last year. I was stoned out of my mind on marijuana and when I realized he was dreaming, sleeping on the way over to Mars, it blew my mind so hard I cried.

  • US Sam Tyler covered wars, y'know.

  • :o.... I liked the show.... HAY! though before you say any thing its just my opinion I thought the ending was a little trippy... but it made sence and endings are hard you know not every one will be happy but all I do is think of all the joy the seiries brought me and well I think it was worth it maby not compered to the UK version but I aint seen that one... which is strange considering I'm english :3

  • Glad this was discontinued after first season

I can only imagine what absolute turd second season would be

  • Genetic DNA?!

  • "If you manage to find genetic DNA and a cure for cancer". This is dialogue is absolute shite.

    1. All DNA is genetic you retard.

    2. If there is DNA on Mars, what makes you think it can cure cancer? You're spending trillions of dollars on what's probably going to be wild goose chase.

  • @JediSlayer22 No, he's not wasting anything because it's FICTION, dude... what the heck happened to everybody? Back in the days people would see science fiction movies that were like impossible to happen and still apreciate (is this word correct?) it... Now people question every little detail on every little scene of every little show like they're all scientist! what the fuck

  • Well..... that's a bit shit, isn't it?

  • What......the......fcuk? Iam so, so glad I live in the UK, and get to watch real, grity dramas which actually reflect real life.....where there is so rarely a "Happy Ever After".

  • It was an okay Ending but too explanatory i mean you don't have to explain every little thing i liked the Mars landing it was a nice touch but the only reason it was named Life On Mars in the first place was because it was a famous song in 1973 and because of how strange it was he Sam Tyler might as well have been on Mars Yeah but for an American Remake not bad but it isn't a Scratch on the Original Series Also those Spacesuits Suck. But thank god they won't be able to destroy Ashes To Ashes.

  • The American version is shit.

  • This is 1973

  • WTF kind of ending is this??? Talk about "jumping the shark"! And the Obama reference?!?

  • This ending is a pathetic attempt at recreating the epicness of the UK ending . It takes the title 'Life on Mars' way too seriously.

  • Comment removed

  • wots pisses me off is life on mars uk ad the best ending i av ever seen , how cn usa think this one compares at all ? juat like the office take a good idea n make it cheesy , how bout just showing our tvs shows insted of trying to make there own crappy version

  • @MEMARKA I agree. This remake really pisses me off though. American producers wrote something completely different, and it was ridiculus! Being of the US I watched the re-make first, and hated it, unaware of the UK version, which I later found. I Refused to watch it becuase I hated the US version so much, but my friend convinced me otherwise. I fell in love with the whole damn thing. The writing is amazing, and I was so excited about John Simm being in it as well; he is a brilliant actor. <3

  • totally wrong!!!!! , just didn't work 4 me

  • wtf is this utter tat!!! yanks per usual ruining what is a grt tv series yanks just don't get it do they!

  • I liked the US version more than the UK one. I watched the US version first and when i got a hold of the UK version I was kind of disappointed.

  • This was the worst thing I have seen since pictures of the Hiroshima bomb aftermath. Only this is way more unforgivable.

If I ruled the world, the makers of this show would strung up and stoned to death.

As a result of the last 10:35min of this show, I now HATE all American's. Even YOU (random American reader who had nothing to do with the making of this show).

It may sound like I'm joking but I'm not, I'm really this angry!!

Although we all know why they had to dumb it down for the yanks.

  • rubbish

  • what happened to his hand?

  • for everyone out there watch the last episode of ashes to ashes it explains it all oh and it,s very sad

  • i dont think they got the concept of the title..... there not actualy ment to be on mars, its a bowie song

  • i saw life on mars onec this episode

  • Oh dear....I watched it again still bad! Gene Hunt is from Manchester -Sam is from Hyde (it exists its a division of the GMP) Why are the yanks allowed to do this to classic stuff? Ugh.....Can you hear me Major Tom?

  • I can stop thinking about such a rubbich end and I'm starting to understand why in the UK version, Sam commits suicide. Maybe he just saw the US ending and decided to kill himself because he couldn't bear such bullshits... Anyway Life on Mars US is quite a good parody. What, this is not a parody?? oO

  • WHY AMERICA WHYYYYYYYY????? Why take such a wonderful show and turn it into....THIS????

  • This US show was personal to me... took me back to the 70s and lots of memories. It was an enjoyable, emotional and over the top trip to the last. I didn't live in the UK and so that version wouldn't mean much to me... leave us with our version and go watch something else and stop complaining! I was so glad for this cast and the music and that I could buy the DVD set, a rare thing for me to do. I was so sad to see it end, but what a way to go!

  • well that was fucking awful. It basically means that the entire series up to the point that they woke up was irrelevant... BBC version is so much better

  • well that was shit

  • i find it funny why american producers cant just show British dramas in america instead of rewriting them to create a massive pile of ball sack that dosent ever make sense and for some strange reason waters down the meaning of the story. i find it very hypercritical that lets be honest americans are often more open and confident then most british however they seem to have this weird sensitive attitude towards television when society in america itself is just as controversial as any other.

  • Trust the Americans to fuck up one of the best British series of all time.

  • you what, i dont see why american feel the need to ruin such a brilliant BRITISH tv show

  • What the h*ll did they do to Life on Mars (UK) ending?! This is absolute rubbish and has nothing to do with the original story!

  • I didn't see this show when it was on tv. I borrowed it from the library. I loved it! it was the first show in a long time I would love owning. after searching around the internet I realized it was originaly a uk offering. I won't bitch or complain about either verision. They're both great.Since I haven't seen it yet here,THANK YOU BBC! Even though ABC (US) changed the show,It's still a great show and even greater music. That's what makes the show.So stop the fighting,It's just a show not a war!

  • Wow, this was crap.

  • i don't know what you all are bitching about, i thought the ending was fucking sweet.

  • how is that a good ending seriously.

  • i didnt like this ending, i felt it was pointless following all these leads about who his father was, his new sense of life, annie. . etc. come to find the ending literally broke all ties with everything. iono how u can love this ending, but i can understand how u can accept this ending. i havent seen the uk ver. bt i will check it out. i can't understand why they would fool the audience. its good to fool an audience bt to literally make everything not matter was jus horrible.

  • Genetic DNA? As opposed to what?

  • What a great show.

  • Bad ending, yes. More important, why are they scoring it with Elton John?

  • Oh my goodness- are you being serious? They have the opportunity to create a fantastic ending- no doubt they were in talks with the UK writers and were probably told the actual ending- and they chose this? What a load of crap! This is an embarrassment!

  • Ugh. No wonder the US version didn't last.

  • "this will be one successful gene hunt"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Honestly I think the US version could have went on to surpass the UK version if the network just gave the show more of a chance than just one season.

  • :D David Bowie wants me to move with him to Spain and raise praying mantis'! I swear I love that line! I loved this series, and loved especially Michael Imperioli and Harvey Keitel. I haven't seen the UK version to judge it, but so far I love the US version.

  • Though I dislike the UK version for several reasons, I like it more than this one. This version is a bit cringeworthy in terms of connecting the dream to reality.

  • it has to be said i cried at the US version when i watched this.... with laughter!

i 'm sorry, but seriously? this ending is a really big let down and quite predictable considering the TITLE of th programme- i just hope that if/ when the american version of bad girls is created (if it is anymore) i hope it too is not ruined.

  • @Tilly199418 well said ;). Let's hope they don't remake Ashes To Ashes.

  • @abigailmishaa oh my dear god - do not even go there! LOL

  • This ending was brilliant, much better written than the UK ending that was way too I've-seen-it-before-in-Vanilla-Sky for me..

But that's just my opinion... (btw, the Gene Hunt pun was lame though.. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @TroyCarm He didn't survive! The whole 1973-world is a plane of existence between life and death. (Like Limbo or Purgatory.) So by commiting suicide he re-enters that world.

And yes, people DO also dream of coming here! Considering yourself some sort of superior "World Police" and thinking that Earth mainly consists of the USA is simple arrogance on your part! Neither one is superior. Not USA nor Europe.

In general, your TV shows are ok - but this one sucks and the ending is plain stupid.

  • @SonataFanatica I don't think the American writers could abide by the suicide ending of the UK version so they changed it to something nicer and more family based viewing.

  • @SonataFanatica please don't think he speaks for all of us here in the US. I preferred the UK version mostly because John Simm is just such a great actor

  • @efatarocks I don't. There are always black sheep who make the rest look bad. I'm German, so I know...^^

  • @SonataFanatica hehe you have a prime example in the history books, that's for sure

  • @efatarocks

    watch?v=7YSSsFpQswk

  • @SonataFanatica I suddenly feel ashamed to be American....

  • @TroyCarm YOU FUCKING STUPID BIG HEADED YANK, god forbeid this never happons but we get the whole of europe to take you yanks out we could do it so shut the fuck up you always make crap remakes of our shows hundreds of them oh and your speaking our language you twat think on that as well motherfucker.

  • @TroyCarm

sorry yoy missed the wkole point of the series.!

  • @TroyCarm

sorry you missed the whole point of the show mars was an allagory for a different time and space with different values.

  • @TroyCarm Looks like somebody's a little /too/ proud of their country. It's time to unbury your head from the ground and accept that your country has problems like everybody else.

  • @TroyCarm as i said on the other video, yes, we can. go to any field or cafe with a polish-english dictionary and you'll see. also, who said he survived?

  • @TroyCarm I'm much more proud of being American, when I don't have some cantankerous, insult-hurling, jerk representing what is supposed to pass for patriotism. Yes, we're an awesome country, and yes, we have huge flaws. I love it, and I see no reason to represent it by levying undeserved insults as a means by which to bolster My own appearance. One's actions are a superior measure. You, sir, should please consider that decorum, sadly not at present, also made us great.

    @SonataFanatica Spot on.

  • @TroyCarm Oh please, you beat the Nazi's in WW2 and ever since then have been bombing brown people armed with sticks and rocks in an attempt to get the same boner you did back then. You live in a country full of materialism and greed, America ... FUCK YEAH!

  • @TroyCarm Hey mate. Food for thought. Americans originally CAME from Britain.

  • @TroyCarm you give americans a bad name by personifying their selfish arrogant sophomoric stereotypes. you're the type of yank the whole world hates.

  • @TroyCarm Actually buddy, American cars pale in comparison to Japanese engineering, and before you fire off that 'them Japs only rip off American ideas', it's pretty clear they aren't ripping off too many ideas from you lot. And your comments on the War betray an obvious lack of schooling and general wisdom of the world. Just because the self-parody which is the USA keeps sticking its pretentious nose in other people's windows, doesn't mean it's invited or required.

  • @TroyCarm lol Dude I cant believe you have connect LOM to WW2. Life on Mars was an amazing series, the US nor could any other country beat the original. So it's not about being a mindless patriotic, it's about quality and from what I've seen in this version it is lacking just that.

  • @TroyCarm Yes. Shitloads of people dream of coming to the UK. That's why they're stowing away on lorries and ships to cross the Channel and then forging passports and other documents just to try and stay in the country. Ironically, Americans are descended from the Britons that everyone hated. After the Restoration, the Puritans fled to America because nobody agreed with their batshit way of life and their insistence on banning anything remotely entertaining such as the theatre.

  • @TroyCarm Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @TroyCarm America joined world war 1 in 1917 a little less than a year before the war ended we did not need your help then

  • @TroyCarm Get your facts right fool

  • @TroyCarm I agree with you

  • @TroyCarm

    Just... what?

  • @TroyCarm What a cunt.

  • ..........HAHAHAHA that was the worst pile of shit i've ever seen. its all about the UK ending. the US gene is a fucking fairy compared to UK gene.

  • America have seriously gotta STOP copying british TV idea's , it seems rediculos that try and make good shows their own. this is shit

  • Hey, have some respect guys. While it may not be your "preferred" version you shouldn't ridicule it. Lots of people worked hard to put the US version of "Life on Mars" together and do bear in mind that they only had a few episodes to wrap up the series. Who knows what would've happened had it been given the chance for a second season, like the UK version. This was a show that brought some intelligent programming to an increasingly limited lineup of stupid reality and game shows.

  • @WrightStuffOnTheWeb Exactly, I didn't like the U.S. ending, but I'm not going to say it was crap, or that the show was crap. It's only my opinion.

  • oh my god this is absolutely terrible comparaed to our version : /

  • This ending annoyed me so much... >.>

  • AAAAARGH!!!!!!!!

  • "So what we'll do, at the end, we'll have these characters all waking up on a spaceship in the future and they have a little chat and then then get off, so they actually ARE on MARS!! Huh? Huh?"

    *Coffee in the face*

    "AAARRGGGGHHH! ARRRGGHHH!! WHY???????"

  • @fodsaks

    Why not?

  • You know I'm conviced if the endings had been reversed and ukSam landed on mars, you'd all be clapping and back slapping each other and saying how that ending was superior to usSam's jumping off a roof to his "death"

  • @NYCpizzaz no way. this ending sucked because it lacked imagination not because it was the second one. It took the title too literally and it just simply happened. All in all it looked like it was just tacked on to the end of a series in which the writers had run out of ideas

  • @Majorshep

So if he jumped off a roof back into purgatory it would have been a better ending?

  • This ending is so crap. The UK Life on Mars ends spectacularly. This ending is designed for idiot americans who cant understand how a show called life on mars can have no connection to space. Its designed to appeal to all the idiots who couldnt understand subtlety if it smashed them in the face with a bottle. WTF was with all the crap with a Gene Hunt, thats them fitting a story to somehow connect with characters already created by superior british actors. By the Way Im australian so no bias.

  • u.s has made some great tv shows but i don't understand why they have to re-make something we do well instead of using our original
