How accurate is this? I'm wondering if the microphone in the iphone is half decent for fairly simple measurements. I have an old Audiocontrol SA3050 but for fast measurements, this seems like it would be quite handy.
Good question, and to be honest I’m not sure. The program does work fine on the new iPod Touches with the internal microphone, and you can plug in external microphones into these devices.
If you already have a Blue Mikey and the iPod Touch then you can try other products to see if they can detect and use the external microphone. I think that a external microphone will need to be attached before running the software, but if other software works then I guess Pocket RTA should work too.
You should use the internal microphone with RTA, I dont recommend plugging into a mixer directly otherwise you stand a good chance of damaging the device. A mixer outputs a line voltage which is far too high for that of a microphone input.
I am despereatly looking for an app like this for my Nokia N 8.... help!!!!!

@tocson2
Hi
You can capture up to 3 static traces and use them to compare with a live trace. You cannot view 2 live inputs simultaneously
Thanks

@erikjan12345 You can use a 1/8 to 1/4 converter (if the board uses 1/4 inputs). If not, they have Direct Input boxes that take 1/8 in and XLR out.
You CAN plug it into the system, however, make sure Phantom Power is off (if you're not using DI).
