  • I thought Jet-packs were meant to have jet engines -__-.

    Not lawn-mowers

  • all it needs are two miniguns

  • cost 100,000

  • Sounds like a vibrator.

  • Its not a jetpack

  • how fast

  • 100,000 dollars! big witz!

  • You successfully strapped two helicopters to your back!

  • @deltafan909 I'm sure you have a waaay cooler version.

  • how will it go down ?

  • vai cosi'!!!!!!tra una decina d'anni addio automobili,SI VOLA!!!!!!

  • Its just a big bicopter.

  • This machine would be almost impossibe to fly without a computer control system, I want one! Well done guys at Martin!

  • this is fucking LAME I WANT TO SEE A PERSON FLY IT!!! Theres a radio control club down the street i can see this kinda crap all day. I got the balls let me fly it you pussies!

  • @BeerMoneyLive

But unfortunatley, you dont have the intelligence to fly it.

  • @BeerMoneyLive

    P.S its called a "test"

You dont fucking test something with a live human being, until your sure that it will run properly with little errors. That fact that their using a dummy, OBVOIUSLY means that it risky doing it with a real person because they can DIE?!?!

    Use your god damn brain.

  • I wanna get glued to that!

  • Take a good look apple! this is revolutionary! not your shit phone!

  • I can see that being mistaken for a UFO

  • Just what the world needs is another "Moron Machine" along with Quads, Jetskis, Ski-doos and other personal recreational devices that shatter the calm and destroy the environment!

  • They could've used these ones on 9/11. Escorting people out of the buildings :P

  • will there be flight assisted systems on the jet pack to prevent human errors .

  • what happens when you have an engine failure at 200ft?

  • @08SJF08 A hole...

  • FAKE I SEE THE ROPE AND THE DAMN GUY CONTROLING THE THING!

  • @MrsCena456789 Yeah thats why the grass is blowing underneath it.. jeez.. must be kak having a South African being smarter than you...

  • i want it

  • I wouldn't want it. It's huge. First let 'm try to make it the size of an average backpack, maybe then i'll consider.

  • Could have a video from Jetson's point of view! That would be awesome!

But other than that, great to see this technology working! Hope to see it for sale soon (and maybe using hydrogen as fuel... that would be perfect)!

  • @BurgerMiser88 no, doesn't seem so, they look to be making sure the parachute testing goes well first.

  • Any videos with a real person piloting it at a significant height?

  • tinha q ser mais leve

  • But it works like a helicopter so it´s not really a "JetPack".

it´s more a heli with out windows and seats for more than one passengers...

    But anyway it´s nice ;)

    See you PML´Style

  • leaf blower

  • Ow, Ow, ololo

    I'm driver of UFO

    Пыщ, Пыщ ололо

    я водитель НЛО

  • The biggest flaw with any personal jetpack is that failure at certain heights will kill you, namely if you're too high to survive the fall and too low for a parachute to work. Further, if you were to fly it in a city for instance, even a parachute wouldn't ensure safety since you could be blown into buildings. So forget about flying to work in one of these. But maybe just recreational...

  • @NewFormofSilence yet people including you, fly in airplanes without parachutes all the time.

  • @Brandonduboff There are two things wrong with that statement. A) There are many passengers inf planes, yes, but relatively few planes, whereas personal jetpacks would number in the millions. Thus failures would be more numerous. B) A plane can be flown even with technical difficulties, since it does have some glide capability, just like a helicopter can usually be landed safely in case of problems. These jetpacks would just drop like a stone.

  • o.o ololololo

  • stark: I want one.

    pepper: nnNO

  • PC whimps!

  • if i have it i will go to school with it

  • if the testing is going well, than i'll be a jetpack flying old guy! (im 12 now)

  • He cheated by typing YECGAA typical gta san andreas ! :P xD

  • This will definitely be of use in search and rescue operations. It could also be used to rescue people from buildings( it would have to be a two person model, the pilot and a safety harness) because it could get much closer than a helicopter. Check the Mythbusters video under "Personal Jet Pack" , it shows how scammers are selling fake plans of this device online.

  • shame but you are wasting your time and all that efart please look for the

    williams x jet

you will see it was made in 1980 and i dont think you are going to get mutch better than that even today

  • it sounds like a badass lawn mover

  • Its now three years since this device flew at Oshkosh. It flew a about three feet of the groung with a humanpilot. And now three years later? It flies about three feet of the ground with a human pilot. untill the problem of protecting the pilot at between say 5 and 300 feet is solved it (like all the jetpacks before it, there are nine on Wiki) has no meaningful future. Short of an antigravity device Mr Martin is stuffed.

  • This will go great with my jetlev, then I"ll have a jetpack for land and sea!

  • Is there any plan to export this thing to other countries? In Russia many would like to have such a thing.

  • told to stop playing grand theft auto sandreas

  • WEAK

  • Sounds like a moped

  • suck

  • for like a tast, try to go with a PAIRSHOUT.. and ture off the engine and let it free fall..????? if you wint just ain idea.

  • just in caes he fall put a pairshout on it.............

  • he shold put a pairshout on it just it fall. win he is high in the air.. very nice and so cool so allsome i like it a lot. good inventter. nic one..........

  • Some valid concerns here about parachutes not being relevant during low level flights. I would definitely want to fly my jet pack mostly at a low elevation. What about an inflatable safety system instead? I heard these can be equally effective, and work at a low altitude.

  • OUTSTANDING GUYS WELL DONE

  • that was extrordanary oh and go to dasenttube and dasenttube.webs.com

  • its really stable, I'm impressed

  • I can't belive some still think it's all a hoaks and they are all con men. it works beautifly.

  • @380zeaiclies what the fuck is hoak? =))

  • @380zeaiclies lol anyone who disbeleives this thing is kinda stupid, its using an extremely practical and beleivable form of lift - a high revving prop fan.... they had this sort of technology available in the 60's but it was only being tested by the USAF

  • NOTHING TO DO HERE

  • I think it's awesome but to re assure anyone who is bold enough to fly it. A deploying parachute kit needs to be retrofitted to the device to impose some sort of safety feature in case of a failure at dangerous altitudes though. For $100,000 a few more thousands wont hinder sales.

  • Wow so bulky.

  • how much fuel?

  • How much will this Bad boy cost?? Please make it Less than 200k At least!

  • @jackoroma3 ummm check the uploader comments. 100K in US.

  • ششششششششششششششششششششششش

  • im gonna buy one just to be a dick

  • As Barnum rightly observed, there is a sucker born every day.

Mr Martin is looking for 20 million dollars so that he can continue to play.

Go to his web site to contribute.

And RCllamadude, they did use a ballistic chute but the landing would have still turned the pilot into strawberry jelly - so they changed the video. I wonder why?

  • cool

  • E AI PESSOAL SUPERTECNOLOGIA DE MRTTIN JETPACK FORA DE VÔO VAMOS SE PREPARAR

  • Hi Joe, fact is that due to money shortage Quasiturbine was never tested in a "internal combustion" configuration. This does'nt mean that such a conversion wouldn't work. QT tried some study. You can read one on their website. Only thing I can say is if power to weight ratio and thermal efficiency remain fairly similar to the QT steam version, maybe the question should be raised... At least, theorically...

  • dear santa,

for christmas i want a pony, a a race car, and an UNSAFE, UNSTABLE DEATH TRAP THAT FLIES!!!!!! just kidding, this thing is awsome, but have you thought about maybe adding a ballistic parachute to prevent people turning into a pile of strawberry jelly from a failure of the engine and the resulting fall to their death?

  • In order to improve tremendously the operational range of your system, maybe you should consider the use of a "Quasiturbine" engine. According to various sources very high power to weight ratio and high thermal efficiencies are achieved by such a technology.

Did you consider such an option ?

  • @alternotre The english wikipedia article about the Quasiturbine engine states: "it has never been shown to work as an internal combustion engine". So it wouldn't be an option... unless you want a steam-powered jetpack :P

  • i want to be an Ironman!

  • lol i can imagine people modding these like they do to cars. DOUBLE FUEL TANKS AND TURBO CHARGERS!

  • Terminator.

  • This JetPack charms my eyes so much. Yet there are several problems, in my opinion, that need to be concerned.

First, a tremendous noise is made during the flight, which may lowers the practical value of this JetPack in military use.

Second, the engine generates heat that may put the user in danger, as it is close to the seat.

Third, the JetPack may lack stability in different weathers.

On the other hand, it is a very engaging breakthrough.

  • MOM I WANT ONE! CAN YOU GET ME ONE?

  • I don't know if most of you people posting negative comments about the way the vehicle landed realize it but the deployment of the parachute is a safety feature and was a necessary test to be certain it would work as planned and that it is being flown by remote control from the ground. If they wanted to, they most definitely could have done a controlled landing, as they done many of those before.

  • Radio: Traffic jam on the highway

Me: That's OK! i will take my jetpack!

  • Do you believe this product will ever become advanced enough for a solar powered version? I'm not a environment freak I just wanna know so I don't have to pay for fuel with one of these! :)

  • This is awesome. Even though this is way to expensive and unsafe atm. When the test period has ended, and you guys have paved the way for the future, in maybe 30years this will be technology that maybe could replace some cars etc. Brilliant.

  • Could you make it any bigger and noisier??? lol hardly a "pack" and is it using fans? more like a fanplane than a jetpack.

  • @D00MWEED How's that trolling working out for you, not too well I see.

  • your putting nz on the map, good on ya mate

  • LMFAAAOOOO

  • Do you control altitude with throttle? Would be nice to find an alternative so the throttle could be left at one setting.

  • how loud is it ??

  • I wanna one gift of this :D

    wonderful!!! :D

  • But surely Lord Kelvin has proved heavier than air flight is impossible!

  • gas turbine or electric in the future would be nice, like any aircraft there will be crashes, whether it be pilot error or mechanical in nature,a ballistic chute with maybe a fail safe flight pattern which would try to bleed off altitude as fast as it is safe.

  • so this is where carl johnson ended up after gta san andreas... :D

  • Imagine one of these, but equipped with two browning .50cal machineguns!!!

  • I wish to work for this company someday

  • Who is designing it? Not BRS. This problem, the protection of the pilot, has been the basic problem for all these jet pack devices since day one. I personally can think of no way it can be overcome, and I have thought about it, because anyone who can come up with a system that will protect an small aircraft (of any type) at very low level will have done something very significant. This issue, (low level saves) is the holy grail for ballistic chute developers. No safe operation, no jetpack.

  • Comment removed

  • The reason they use a dummy pilot is because there is no way to protect the pilot in the event of a failure of the drive system. Any failure leads to the device falling to the ground. If the failure occurs above say 15 feet or so it would obviously be catastrophic so liability issues preclude sales to the public.

  • @98avro98 A ballistic parachute is being designed specifically for the Martin Jetpack to protect the pilot and the aircraft. This will activiate very quickly and automatically if there is an engine failure. Until we complete thorough testing of this system, company safety policy allows only unmanned high flights.

  • @MartinJetPack

I understand that, but you guys have made radical claims about flight time and altitude.I mean no offense but without a proper test why should we believe them?.

  • @MartinJetPack will you sell this in canada? and how much will it cost in canadian dollars? peace

  • @bosasosolja Our target price for the recreational version of the Martin Jetpack is US$100,000 - we have not established an availability date yet for sales in any countries

  • @MartinJetPack Was this the one developed in New Zealand o9r something like that?

  • @MartinJetPack

    Is this a NZ creation?

  • @RubixSolve ya

  • @MartinJetPack But the story would be a lot cooler if it was like "A visionary risks his life and well beeing on becoming the first man to fly across new zeland in a jet pack"

  • @MartinJetPack whats its top speed and how far can it fly?

  • @airsoftmarxman The jetpack can fly up to 63 MPH and can travel for approximately 30 minutes.

  • @DaMailman113 sweet!!!

  • @98avro98 Dear PR guy of another company / internet troll / retard (sorted by likeliness, looking at your profile), please stop making unnecessary comments. When it comes to airborne stuff, failure ALWAYS tends to lead to falling to the ground. Unlike paragliding, flying in birdsuits and whatever Red Bull will come up with next, this JetPack has pretty sophisticated failsafe protections. And honestly, if you're not prepared to fall, you shouldn't try to fly.

  • @98avro98 No shit dumb ass. I think you should be the fucking dummy up there.

  • imagine stumbling upon that bad boy. you just COULD NOT leave that be could you?

Now imagine how you would come off it.... Head first more than likely. Just enough time to think "worth it."

  • YECGAA

  • Fly over Mexico and watch Jaime Maussan rush for his video camera

  • This is what the future looks like.

  • @lesliebeavers17

...not everyone is gonna be able to afford a 85,000 - 100,000 dollar jet pack...

  • Impressive and definitely a step forward, but I don't count it as a "jet pack" unless an average person can carry it around and walk unencumbered.

  • @ilikeimac pocket helichopter may be a better word :)

  • Fucking AWESOME!

  • Didn't the Mythbusters do this myth?

  • @Leeshii93 its zach. just saying

  • @misssarcastic78 actually no, It's Zac. He says in a vid on youtube how to spell his name in both the short and long way :) And wow I sound like a crazy fan right now :/

  • @randomgal13 yes, yes you do... just sayin.....

  • @daninz77 I'm actually not... I just came across that single video and..uh... let's just say I always seem to have a need to correct people.

  • @randomgal13 lol the sad thing was, you really did sound like a crazy fan lol

  • @misssarcastic78 oh yeah as randomgal has said, it is indeed Zac.. my son is a Zachary and has even commented how that Zac spells his name without the h...

  • Dear Santa.

  • DEAR SANTA

  • The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line August 4th. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

  • @jiggy716 are you talking about Skynet form the Terminator movies or Skynet the brutish military communications system?

  • @jiggy716 explain more to me the basics the reason the expectations please

  • Lol, casual fade out before he plummets to earth :P

  • just like casualy flying a jet pack outside aye lol

  • Beam me up, Martin !

  • I dont see why there are so many negitive comments about this video, its actually pretty cool!

  • ROCKET MAN! GTA SAN ANDREAS!

  • @bilbordxoxoxo I was playing GTA SA a minute before going onto youtube and saw this, I want one!!

  • YECGAA

  • @bilbordxoxoxo But no flame effects. Just a noisy lawn mower sound.

  • Still no Boba Fett, but getting there.

  • how much does that dummy weigh?

  • That looks comfortable.

  • i bet in 20 years we all have one of these lol

  • a lot of downwash or what the hell it's called but who cares it's a fucking jetpack O_o

  • @hTTrick It's not fake at all, they're selling it for like 45.000 euro and it costs around 10 cents per second to fly that thing and it can reach about 100km/h.

  • @fuckingyourcorpse fake. ps: gay

  • @hTTrick 100% not fake

  • gta sa times.. o.o

  • Where can I buy one of those?:P

  • @IndebanvanStefan somewhere after 2011 for 100k$

  • @XherfaultX Hmm.. Now I do have the question.. Where do I get the money from haha:P

  • omg I want a jetpack!!!!!!

  • UFO spotted!

  • So this is the witch some people saw in Mexico......

  • А сколько такая игрушка стоит? Интересно как в крупных городах ее можно использовать? Стоянки? Будет теперь и воздушная полиция?

  • класс!!!!!! я тоже такой хочу.

  • Testing by remote control? Is that 'cos only a lightweight plastic dummy in place of a pilot gives the machine an acceptable performance?

  • @shumble32 If you bothered to read the video's description you would not have made that post.

  • Comment removed

  • People with negative views on this are just plain jealous that they can't afford to buy one, whilst the common millionaires, rich bankers and businessmen will have 2 parked infront of their porches.

I wish I would win the lotto.

  • I hope they are rigorous, imagine having one of those fall out of the sky
