  • Just to update, I went to see the movie last night, opening night, and I was glad to see the theater full. Definitely worth seeing. The Richard Dawkins interview at the end was exceptional.

  • Saw this movie on 8-17th at a special screening here in KC,MO. Most enlightening movie. The "pseudo-scientists Ph.D's who have their B.S. Piled Higher and Deeper and who hold to Darwinism are just as much into a faith based religion as any Creationist.

David Dawkins, finally pinned down to answer how life began on earth says...that somewhere in the universe, perhaps another civilized race sprang up billions of years before ours and seeded our planet. Aliens Encounters!

  • Again, comments will not be approved unless they pertain to the movie. This is not a forum for discussing the merits of Intelligent Design. This obviously makes some of you very mad. Sorry. I know... I know... I'm 'stifling debate' and 'guilty of the worse kind of censorship'! Its more that the youtube comments section simply isn't conducive to any kind of real conversation. Go find a discussion forum somewhere.

  • Christian Post reports that "An "Expelled Road Show Tour" is currently underway and is scheduled to hit 40 college campuses across the country by the film's February 2008 release date."

  • I agree with evolution, but disagree with silencing those who have differing viewpoints. This looks like a worthwhile documentary.

  • This is pathetic. There is no research being done into intelligent design. There are no peer reviewed papers being published. The ID proponents are just rehashing centuries old arguements against evolution. None of the arguments stand up to scrutiny.

  • This comment is a perfect example of the reason I'm limiting comments on this video. Most people that post derogatory items about ID don't even realize what the theory states. Do some basic research before making silly comments. ID is not creationism rehashed. It simply states that design is scientifically detectable. There is plenty of research being done to attain scientifically verifiable tests for detecting design.

  • (con't...)

To say there are no peer-reviewed papers being published is only to reiterate exactly the premise of Ben Stein's movie. Thank you!

  • It's circular reasoning. ID is not considered science because there are no peer-reviewed journal papers. Journals will not accept or publish papers submitted supporting ID because it's not science. Catch-22.

In any case, here's a peer-reviewed paper supporting ID that somehow slipped through the Darwinian dogma litmus test.

Meyer, S.C. (2004) The origin of biological information and the higher taxonomic categories. Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington 117(2):213-239.

  • Should be interesting. We'll see what evidence Ben offers for his position...which has typically been missing. Hopefully he doesn't waste our time with the standard "here is something we don't understand, so this proves our point" argument. Afterall, a theory without evidence is just speculation.

  • It's about time a real man spoke out against the establishments repressive, even oppressive (what are they REALLY afraid of?) defense of the coveted doctrine of their pseudo-god, Darwin. EVERY other "well established" theory is routinely put to the test and that's called the scientific method, BUT, question the atheist's holy grail of evolution and watch how fast they get all nasty, mean and agressively mount an attack just to shut you up - WHY? Me thinks they protest too loudly!

  • Fanatical Christians and fanatical Atheists are equally annoying. Do I believe in Intelligent Design? No, but neither do I actively disbelieve in it. I recognize the fact that I do not know. I have no problem with this film, at least until I've had a chance to see it.

  • I wonder if Ben Stein will find something scientific (i.e. falsifiable) in ID. If he does, then the movie will defiantly be worth it. If not, he can hardly put ID on even footing with evolution.

  • This looks like it will be very interesting. As all sides have pros and cons, I think in the end the movie is just going present the sides, and not really take one. Which is great, I think. Show all possibilities and let people decide, and not judge them for it.

  • ID is a hypothosis not a theory. A theory is a body of truths and conclutions made from test and evidence. If ID wants to be proven as a sience as Darwins theory has been so be it. I congradulate the person who can test conclusivley that ID has any truth in it. No faith, No "it's in the bible". Test facts and evidence. If anyone can do that then we will have it in sience class rooms. Untell then leave it in bible studies and hocus pocus sessions.

  • Wow, amazing that this documentary was made right at this moment in scientific history. Perfect timing. Dismissive of Intelligent Design myself as non-scientific until I actually researched what it is they were saying, I was likewise stunned to see so many highly respected scientists attack ID theorists in a personal way instead of refuting the arguments scientifically. From the trailer it looks like the people who made this movie found the same thing I did.

  • This is beyond the validity of both scientific and religious claims; it is the battle between the two most time enduring concepts of mankind: the appeal to tradition vs. use of logic and reason, and old vs. new.

Religion has long asserted itself and meddled with the board of ed. prime example, the state of Kansas, and the famous Scopes trial in Tennessee

  • I will see this Move And hope Others do the same

  • It's about time! If a group of people (whether they be scientist, politicians, etc.) have such great certitude about their conclusions, then why are they so afraid of another point of view? Why not lay it on the line instead of trying to silence an opposing view? We are cheating ourselves otherwise. That's what this is also about, not just which view is correct.

Can't wait to see it. Bravo, Stein and co.!

  • Dude, it's not the questioning. That's normal, every theory in science is questioned. It's the attempt to ignore the scientific community and instert a bad idea into public education that gets people up in arms, and rightly so.

  • you miss the point. It has been "laid on the line" repeatedly and ID has failed to meet even the most basic tests of science. That is why it is excluded from science.

  • For the simple reason that science is not a democracy. You can say any garbage you want in the public forum, but if you want an allegedly scientific view to be accepted in the scientific community you've got to come forward with verifiable, repeatable, testable, and falsifiable EVIDENCE. ID cannot do this and its NOT science.

  • I love Ben Stein. Great Trailer. I would go see it for sure.

  • Ben Stein rocks

  • I hope this movie has some substance behind it. From the trailer, it looks like it is just going to promote the myth that IDers are being discriminated by the entire scientific community. The same argument is being used by deniers of "HIV causes AIDS." I would hope that they can use some evidence instead of resorting to rhetoric.

  • Myth? Yeah right. From what I see in the trailer and what I have come to know of Ben Stein's keen intellect, I am expecting to see PLENTY of substance. Go Ben!

  • Look great. Can't wait for it

  • Looks good!

  • Comment section is for commenting on the movie itself. This is not the place to debate Intelligent Design. Comments will be removed accordingly.

  • With all respect,I don't see why you need to refute ID debates, seeing as how the film is meant to spark discussion about it.Why don't you just delete comments that are insulting and immature?

  • I can't wait to see this movie! This is going to be huge! Thank you for putting it on youtube. I've always known the science community put a lot of peer pressure on doubters of Evolution and this proves it once and for all. Which leads to the next question- why? I think it is for political and religious reasons.
