A great live version! This sound like the very best version of this song of Jerry's since his original recordings of it at Sun Records way back in 1957!
I can't find one of version of Whole lotta shakin..if somebody remember a long time ago on tv was serial "history of the music" and one piece was about rock'n,roll. And then I was hearing the finest version of Whole lotta shakin'...next was Elvis Presley with That's allright mama, Little Richard with Long Tall Sally and Chuck Berry with School Days and many more.. Please help me to find out this version of WLS (goin' on) . Sorry for my English. best regards Adam
FANTASTIC!!! Nice to see Jerry Lee with musicians other than his "road band." He seems inspired and his piano playing is great! Nice and IMPORTANT clip for J.L.L. fans!
agree,Jerry lee sometimes lets old Kenny and the band do the work,He seems to come alive when playing with another group of muscians.(Then again,I've seen him blow the roof of with Kenny and the band!)The main man, without a doubt.
all that crap about who is the king.they are all kings.elvis,jerry lee lewis,chuck berry,gene vincent,buddy holly,eddie cochran,bill haley,fats domino....these people ARE rock'n roll.
I'll tell you that its between Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, not one person, except for rfindprodtv2, would even consider Gene Vincent as "The King of Rock'n Roll"
there is no king ! but guys like gene vincent or jerry lee lewis are more fidel to the real rock'n'roll, that's all ! we can't forget that elvis did a lotta bad songs in 60's for his movies
elvis isn't the king, he made a career on covering other peoples songs, Jerry lee lewis, chuck berry, and Little richard actually wrote their songs, I'm not saying Elvis dosen't derserve some credit he had his own style and dance moves but I think its too much credit to call him the king of rock and roll
Ummm hate to dissapoint you all, but the TRUE King of Rock and Roll is Chuck Berry. Elvis will always be referred to as that, but Chuck wrote em, played em, and sang em. JLL is The Man, also, but Chuck is the King. JLL even called Chuck the King of R n R. I guess since JLL always plays several songs of Chucks in concert. More artists have covered Chuck, and as Lennon said, if you give Rock and Roll another name it would be "Chuck Berry".
Right on fredrik80!! Elvis assumed room tempreture in 1977...who is still Rockin' in 2006 and just put an albumn in the #4 slot??? Elvis?? Nooo...The KILLER did it Oct 2006 Last Man Standing! 71 and still kickin' ass! Danny O'Donnell
His hands are faster, but overal Jimmy Tv performance have a kind numb voice with some "lack of heart", and the piano sound it's not loud ou not souning powerful, despite of fast palying.

Still a real treat to see JLL without his road band....check out some of the subtle cool piano licks, like he's ALMOST enjoying his own playing!
