@Laranzava Um....no. Listen to the two ''Warriors Code'' things again at the start. They basically stipulate adaptability, flexibility and ''seizing the moment'' as it were. The only point of contention is the one he brings up about loyalty doubts.

@antaeus95 in what aspect? perhaps in the militaristic sense, yes. But Genghis was one dimensional. Ceasar, Napoleon and the Shogun were not just known for their military genius. These men introduced civil and political innovations that were every bit as extraordinary as their heroic victories.

@willw090 Toyotomi's son was too young and the power lies either in the hands of either Ieyasu or Mitsunaru. It's politics, either you die or your opponent does.
@ppshchik agreed but there was never any reason for them to fight they didnt become enemies until ieyasu broke his promise although truth is Mitsunari always disliked ieyasu,

@nepomusik Sorry guy,Oda dont even know how to chose disciples,he also not good in war strategy. There r many reason make him success, but not because he's a nice working shogun
The best Sengoku Jidai period general was a man named Hideyoshi Toyotomi, he was the one who conquered all Japan single handedly and defeated all the other generals who ever opposed him. No one ever beat him, but he could only became regent and not Shogun because he couldn't trace his blood line back to the Shogunate founding Yamato Clan, a necessity to be Shogun. Tokugawa, Shingen, Kenshin, and Nobunaga were all great generals, but I personally don't think that any were better but Nobunaga

Correction. The shoguns were not considered emperors of Japan.Thats only the emperor.the Emperor in eastern cultures is a holy man and is the spiritual light of a country, not someone who has to descend down to bloody violence. That was the job of warlords. So technically the Emperor never changed, not even during the sengoku period. But defacto control of Japn lied with the shogun and theultimate unifiers of that country.
listened about a minute in and thought "gee bbc, mistaking the guy who got the easiest part of the unification for the best general, really?"
most of the more famous names of the sengoku period were manifestly better generals than tokugawa leyasu...not to say the guy was a bad general of course, but kenshin, nobunaga, shingen, and ujiyasu were all generally superior. hell shingen and kenshin caused the oda/tokugawa alliance to crap themselves by presence alone...
In Shogun 2 Total war 's Historical battle , the battle of Sekegahara objective said that " use Mitshunari forces to wipe out Tokugawa and the supporters " but in real history the Mitshunari fail the battle . The question is " Why Creative Assembly want us play as Mitshunari not the Tokugawa ? " .
The sometimes do that. In Rome Total War for example, you fight as the Romans in Lake Trasemine, Gergovia Trebia and Teutoburg Forest, you fight as Phyrrus of Epeirus in in the Siege of Sparta, you fight as the Seleucids in Raphia etc etc
Since the first Shogun Total War, you haven't realized? Sometimes CA let's us play as the losing side. So far, I'd seen that there are 2 situations as the losing side why CA let's you play it. 1) Because it was possible for that losing side to win. 2)The winning side has all the advantage & it's not fun to play as them anyway.
a Roman Veteran Army wouldnt stand a chance against a Samuri army. you no why :P because Samuri no how 2 use a sword romans use formations 2 win a battle. 2 bad rome would never meet the Samuri in battle :D
@SulFuriiCxDzyR Once the roman formation hits, they wouldn't have enough room to swing their swords. Romans used shorter blades instead of longswords for a reason
A shame that Tokugawa is one of the hardest campaigns in Shogun 2 :(, but probably an accurate reflection on how Ieyasu won through diplomacy rather than pure force.
i love tokugawa's "Way of the warrior" since most business firm use his strategy nowadays in order to win the business world.. the business world is a big open field war.. believe me..

I agree with Tokugawa being the most inspiring of all (Allthought it was Oda who backed him up the most, remember Okehizama?)
(Things I learned in this video)
Tokugawa prefered politics over war, which just proved to be decisive
When the 6-year-old boy was moved away, it made Mitsunari very unhappy
Mitsunari's Ninjas were supposed to assasinate Ieyasu, but failed thanks to his retainer.
One of the greatest rivalries in the world was about to happen

Tokugawa Ieyasu: the best daimyo of that age?
