After Betty I was wondering who would be better in the year 2000... Helmet, or Melvins. Helmet broke up, so Melvins by default. Helmet reunite... 3 albums, great... but with the contest back on, it's Melvins by a long ways. Betty vs. Stoner Witch is pretty much a dead draw. Seeing Eye Dog vs Stoner Witch? Not even close. Still love Helmet!! God I'm old

The vocals fit this song. If you listen to much Helmet youll notice that Page has an extremely versatile voice and sings with different styles throughout helmets career. I honestly thought the vocals in this song reminded me of metalica as well when i first heard it only thing is metalica suck and helmet kick ass!

But Helmet kind of lost me after Aftertaste.

I can't get into that Mono album to save my ass.

When I saw Helmet 3 years ago at the Troubadour, several times he relaxed his vocal chords while singing (notably when they played "give it") & he did sound like the way he used to, also during other songs. He wants to sound this way or overly soft like on "Monochrome". The way he squints when he sings, he's forcing it & that's too bad cuz he sounded 100X better the old way. I still like Helmet a lot, the music still kicks major ass but come back Paige.

Say what you will about the voice, but from a female perspective, it has that rough edge growl that is soooo sexy. The voice (hetfields too, especially in Loverman) sends waves of chills down to my toes....

He's got a bit of a Tom Waits-esque growl going in parts of this vocal performance. Does have a bit of a Hetfield tone at parts which I don't really dig but his voice used to be much cleaner. I definitely dig the music.
