  • use jb weld to put a steel insert in the crater you made in that block. then it can be drilled and tapped for reinstallation of the motor.

  • I got an old John Deere 140 H3 that I'm eventually get down here to work on. It's got a big hydraulic plow on the front and already has the hydro-pump so ima do a hydro-winch. Just to be different. Hoping youll do the same thing so I can figure out how!

  • pto winch off the mower belt drive!!

  • @streetlegalkarts. Thanks

  • @streetlegalkarts. I just had an I dear that you shood run dool exerat pips out the back.

  • @JccBlazer great idea.

  • your doing great but are you going to put a bigger engine in it?

  • @slayer123478 No i am going to do some work on the 12.5

  • Starting to get intresting, Hope it turns out as good as fearless's mowers are, or possibly better. Glad there is another good muddin lawn mower channel out there now. I wish you the best of luck. Take it easy

  • i did here you say something about a winch and not a electric that sounds awsome iv been trying to think of a way to use bottom pully on motor but havent thought of a good way yet but i do have the electric one that is nice to have but hard as hell on batts maybe thats because i dont care what mud hole i go for and use it lots lol

  • are you gonna lift it

  • what was the thickness of the stock u used for the frame supports and could u bolt it in if u didnt have a welder.

  • for the bolt why didnt you grind around it on the frame then weld it back in when the engine gos back??

  • @tjobrienRC ive done this too. works wonders!

  • shoot me an email and il give you tips and pics of my build. Patrickcrf250@yahoo.com

  • Hey jake, idk where exactly your located but in North east PA we have basically hard pan in case you dont know is very solid ground most of the time + lots of rock. thats why i suggested those tires yours and fearless's idea sounds good too.

  • why dont you add like a box on your rack if you make one so it can hold all your tools and extra parts in it

  • Nice work brah!

  • I enjoy your videos as much as Fearless Front's. PLEASE wear eye protection.

  • i have the same mower and plan on making a similar mud machine i was just wondering if u knew what kinda mower it is

  • @TheChurch89 Its a Murray Lawn King. 92? after you tear all the pretty stuff off it, it's just a stamped frame Murray.

  • they also have screw and bolt removers out there .not sure who makes them .but it take it out .would be good to have around most shops.very interesting to watch these videos nice work for sure.

  • @vaultstory yea they are called easyouts and that was the first thing i went for but it didn't work. Thanks for watching.

  • @streetlegalkarts ...hey dude i do a lot of messing around with them tractors to and have had all kinds of problems with broken bolts. them bastards the mix metal shouldn't ''fix stuff'' in my opinion but i have found that a left handed or threaded drill bit works awsome i'v used them a few times and have good luck as well as easy outs witch only work if you can stuff it in a hole like pipe mainly and iv welded steel bolts to broken steel bolts most of the time it works to...

  • @dvwes430athotmailcom ...love what you guys are doing keep up the good work tips and videos and hopefully more people add videos!!!

  • Lookin good man

  • You dudes have some cool projects on the go,welding a nut to o broken is a good idea used it myself works good if you can get it attached well enough, keep up the good work

  • you could drill out holes on the motor and get smaller bolts and just run the bolts threw the top and put lock washers and nuts on the bottom to hold the motor down

  • 2 words Lock transaxle

  • @z54177 he already said twice that he is obviously going to be doing that

  • thanks to the bouth of you guys for the vids great to watch

  • hey if u cant use that box for the stering use a chaine and sprocket

  • feerless is right on my Racing Mowers we use Narrow tires and he feel every single bump and going at speeds of 50 mph with no suspension you feel it. Nice job on the frame support very clean.

  • @V8Mike93 fearless told me to talk to you about the 12hp brigs. I want to bring it up too it full potential. and he claims your the man for the job. Thanks for watching!

  • @streetlegalkarts well what ever ya need to know just let me know.

  • I am not going to read all the comments so you might have heard this. If you bread a bolt, especially in aluminum but also on steel, take a NUT and put it on top of the broken bolt then crank your welder up to the highest setting on the chart and fill the center of the nut with weld. welding it to the broken bolt. this puts the exact amount of heat to break it free and you can put a wrench or a socket on the nut to remove the broken bolt. You won't believe how easy it comes out.

  • @tjobrienRC fearless tried that and the bolt broke off flush with the block. we tryed everything before I went drill happy.

  • @streetlegalkarts Did he turn it as soon as it wasn't red or did he wait for it to cool? As soon as it isn't red anymore you turn it if you wait till it is cool it will break the bolt

  • @tjobrienRC yea we waited. but i will remember that if it happens again,

  • @streetlegalkarts I have done this at least 15 times for people. I am a welder by trade but I used to be a mechanic in the navy.

  • @tjobrienRC Thank you. from one to another. I was GSE.

  • @streetlegalkarts I was EN3

  • @tjobrienRC nice what boat?

  • @streetlegalkarts AOE-2 USS Camden 03-05 (Decommissioned) LPD-5 USS Ogden 05-06 (Decommissioned)

  • @tjobrienRC Bad ass! i was on the CVN-70 USS Carl Vinson 01-05.

  • @streetlegalkarts Where are you now? I am in Buckley WA

  • @tjobrienRC Newcastle ME.

  • @streetlegalkarts Were you on the vinson when it was in washington?

  • @tjobrienRC Yea. you were on the Camden then.

  • @tjobrienRC Thanks for the bombs LOL

  • @streetlegalkarts and i saw that post. so thank you. from one to another. I was GSE.

  • @tjobrienRC but then A) you need a little exposed thread and B) if you heat the alluninium you will stress it causing it to crack. it a good idea none the less tho

  • @MrKadage You don't need any thread exposed. it can be flush. you will not over stress the aluminum because you are puting all the heat into the bolt. The aluminum needs to be cold and it will act as a heatsink trying to pull the heat out releasing it from the bolt. You cannot weld aluminum to steel so you do not have to worry about making it worse.

  • @tjobrienRC haha! we did that exact thing... twice! both snapped off. it was fun.

  • @Fearlessfront As I told your buddy you have to do it while it is hot. He said you waited till it was cool. As soon as the nut and bolt are no longer red you get turning. if it isn't easy STOP grind it flat and drill almost as big as the hole in the nut and go as deep as the bolt. RE-WELD make sure you start in the center of the hole and make sure you point the gun at the bottom corners of the nut to ensure fusion. And try again.

  • @tjobrienRC if you wait till it is cool the aluminum will suck the heat out so fast that it will HARDEN THE BOLT. Making it brittle and it will break. While it is hot it is still ductile and strong. If this doesn't work don't break the nut off grind it flat on top so you can drill through the nut into the bolt and then use the easy out.

  • i think 4x4 put two trans axles on the back and have a doubbl shift one for 1-6 and the other a single geard only forward an revers the other thing is for the exast i think it would b cool as hell to cum down go under the foot propt and an out the side of it and dual it out an have one cumn out the other side under the foot propt

  • make it four wheel drive

  • oh! by the way, buy ya some, easy outs, and keep them around for those broken bolts. they work really good on steel screwed into alum. just drill a hole, screw it in,backwards, and screw the bolt out.just fyi.seeya!!!

  • @eli5771 That was the first thing i tried, but i fear the easyout was going to snap.

  • you think the frame will twist, is that what broke off the bolt? and is that a prob. with these?cause i have a murray, that don't mow, right, gonna refigure it lol is i remove alot of stuff, may i guess i should beef up the frame then? by the way, ain't doin shit now, cold here, lol no heat in the shop. nice vids!!!

  • @eli5771 all frames twist to some extant. but I snaped the bolt trying to take it out. if your mower dosn't mow level then look at the spindles on the deck. you may have an ear broke off. also on the mower I had to put spacers on one of my spindles to make the blades even. i just used washer.

  • I thing you should:

    1. Put a lift on it

    2. Engineer a way to make it a 4x4

I thing it would be easier to just put a lift on though.

  • I have had the same problem with the bolt breaking like that. It's a pain in the butt and a bad design.

  • Great work to u and fearless...could u do kind of a shout out or something to tell ppl to check out my page

  • I've never had a pulley come off that easily in my life! Did you loosen that before hand or something? Funnily enough Ive never had a bolt shear in a block like that either.

You should definately box the angle iron too though, across that chassis, it'll jsut help that little bit more

  • @CSAKvids Nope it just came off that easy. but the bolt seized, thats just how this tractor has been the whole time so far.

  • I would cross brace that frame with a peice of angle mounted at like a v welded to the new pieces of angle u already welded in.

  • i would save up some cash and buy some kenda executioner quad tires.

  • use a old boat trailer winch. yall are awsome and hope i cant use your ideas. i have a 17hp taper shaft, and old atv frontend and a chaindrive mower axle.

  • @shammash55 i mean can use your ideas lol

  • dual rear atv tires

  • Looks really good so far.is that a pressed frame Murray? Yeah I would really say go with bigger front tires, perhaps tube them and run really low air pressure maybe 4 psi or so. I ran my front tires without tubes at low pressure popped one and hit a tree. Good job

  • some of the older garden tractors of "right angle gear boxes". I have 2 old MTDs that each have 2 of them back when MTD knew how to make a GT, I dont mow with them, they just do my grunt work so that gives me a couple to use on projects.

  • Looking forward to the end product man! She's gonna be a beast. On another note, thanks for your service to our country.

  • ive got a craftsman romp mower i modded my self all ive done to it is fix the motor because it sat for a long time new belt and a little skill in driving and i cant get it stuck it wont get stuck if i need over a log pop the clutch ride a willie over it but i have one problem my tie rod keeps bending on me any suggestions

  • Love the chassis strengthening. I can't wait to try that on mine.

  • nice job ya put a nice winch on it and put a really nice push bar and then put bracets around the winch to protect it and it would be cool to have the shifter at the top you should do that then get your lights turn signals and brake light then its somewhat street leagal but good job so far you doing real good ive been tring to build a 6x6 lawnmower but i have no money latle so im not able to buy the rest of the parts and i got a few other mudding mowers two and give me a shoutout please

  • @superinventor1 I would love to make this street legal but in maine they make it hard. but great idea! Thanks for watching.

  • @streetlegalkarts na dont have to be steet leagal really but just have the lights on for fun

  • @superinventor1 ohh I have lights for it!!! but got too do one thing at a time. and there is a daunting amount of work to be done before that happens.

  • @streetlegalkarts yup that true ya gata learn to craw before you walk andya gata learn to walk beforeyou run

  • for me the tires in the front would add alot of weight and make it turn bedder because the axle is locked

  • great video and u should defiantly make a huge big beefy push bar or brush guard that would be awesome and would dominate in the woods

  • @jackduup Great idea! Thanks for watching.

  • Good job so far. Are you going to run the stock clutch, or make your own like fearless did?

  • wen you the back on put anti-seize on the bolt threads.

  • @JccBlazer I think Im going to threw bolt it back on. w/nylocks.

  • Yeah you should totally put a stack on it that would be l sweet and then if you put a flapper on,mud can't go in the exhaust.

  • good job reinforcing that frame. Nice and clean.

  • @icandoit20 Thank you... and thank you for watching.

  • put a traight pipe as the exsaught from to engine out the side and up with one of the flap things on the top like on tractors
