This is one of the rare times where you actually see the sad side of Shampoo's story and complex personality. Which was barely developed in the anime and even manga. (Because it's supposed to be a comedy). Shampoo is my favorite anime character. Really, her story is quite sad when you think about it. This song really reflects that.
@XRanmaFan4EverX I'm a ranmaXakane and ranmaXryoga fan so you can see why... I'm quite happy with the current state of affairs though. It's just so cute seeing Shampoo trying to get rid of Mousse or brainwashing Ranma.
There was a special release called the Hot Springs Contest, which consisted of music videos that supposedly where part of some music singing contest which the entire cast signed up for. (Based on it's name I'd assume the prize was a trip to the Hot Spring of your choice- something that was very valuable to Ranma and others so they could get rid of their curse).
This video is the song sung by Shampoo the Chinese Amazon who insists Ramna marry her.
Shippers: ShampooXRanma: relationships where one party moved to be with the other don't generally work out, but maybe Ranma moves to get away from the chaos (like moving closer to Jusenkyo would reduce chaos). RanmaXUkyo: Ukyo spent so much time dreaming about Ranma, he can't possibly live up to her fantasies, if she even thought about what it would be like actually living with him. RanmaXAkane: Akane is jealous, suspicious, possessive, and borderline abusive. Ranma also pushes her buttons.
*thumbs up* GOOD JOB. i love shampoo. i don't understand why there are so many shampooXranma haters......i don't like Akane....maybe ukyoXranma....but defiantly shampooXranma.
I know, as I pointed out in the "More Info" section and in the first comment I made on this video.
However, it comes in a sentence of: "Suki yo, Suki yo Anata dake, Wo ai ni" Which is literally something like "I love you, I love you, dear one, I love you".
However, the use of Wo ai ni instead of Suki yo is obviously supposed to emphasize the sincerity of the emotion. The literal translation in English would not have expressed that nuance in my opinion. So I gave it as "I do indeed" instead.
i enjoyed this very much but i like to make a helpfull sugestion. when you replaced "my beloved" with just "beloved" there really was no need. you could still say..."My be-love-ed" it it would have sounded fine.still loved it though!!!
I have to disagree though, I listened to it again, and I still think "Be-ee-love-ed" fits the rhythm better than "My Be-love-ed" or even "My-hi Be-loved". Just my opinion of course. You are entitled to your own.
I wonder. Most translations read "anata" as "you", but it can also be a term of endearment for a husband, so I subbed it as "dearest".
Maybe there are some context clues that I am missing that signal which "anata" is meant, but I decided that since it is Shampoo... Well, if anyone was going to call Ranma by an endearment meant for a husband it would be her.
I agree its very sad but what is the song about is it about shampoo being far away from her love and she is ugh will someone explain

Where is this song from?
Nejn34 1 year ago
@Nejn34 The anime/manga is called Ranma 1/2.

Wo ta ai len means : my beloved husband?
Or am i wrong?
Nejn34 1 year ago
@Nejn34
I think the best translation, imo, is: "The one I love", "The Person that I love" or "My most beloved"
Wo = I or Me
De = is or this
Ai = Love
Ren = Person
我的爱人

Welcome to Chinese 101- Today's Chinese term, "Wo Ai Ni." This means, "I Love You." Go to time 1:53, and you will see the minor mistake.
Other than that, you've done a great job!

regardless, it's a very sweet song.
no matter the language one speaks, you can always tell a traditional love song.
i've not had much time in Ranma 1/2 (huge Urusei Yatsura fan, though), but so far, Shampoo is my fave girl.
she's so sweet to Ranma, i have a hard time believing he hasn't fallen for her.
(kicks the dirt) know i would...^_^
