Moral teachings in holy books often times do not rely on logic, but by the authority that God said it to be true. Also Buddhism is an atheist religion. They do not believe in a supreme being. I do not know with a hundred percent certainty that there are no Leprechauns, but I live as if they do not because I see no proof they exist.

I have 50 pages left in The God Delusion and haven't noticed any "bitchiness" yet. There's certainly a condescending tone to it but it's far from bitchy. Also, Dawkins and Harris talk about how people will always fight each other over differences but for someone to strap c4 to their chests, fly a plane into a building, or shoot up an abortion clinic, religion is required.

@254jacksonpro Yeah, I know he makes fun of atheists. What is your point? Atheists can make fun of themselves and dislike other atheists. We don't all conform to one world view, so it's bound to happen that there will be atheists that disagree with one another. Also, if you look at what I wrote, I made it pretty clear that I don't care. I find them funny regardless of their religious affiliation.

I'm an atheist myself and I can fully understand if people who aren't atheists think of Dawkins as a conceited, snobbish bully (even though I appreciate him). Maybe Trey and Matt should read Hitchens some time :)
And another thing: Who cares if Trey and Matt aren't atheists as long as they produce a funny show and keep on trampling on everyone's religious (or antireligious) feelings?

@LtKoerschgen I know many have great respect for Hitchens bitchins. Even though he believes that Mother Teresa had some duty to hand out condoms in the third world. (He was there. Nothing stopping him from handing them out on his own. Nothng stopping Planned Parenthood from buying their own plane tickets and offering abortions either.) All talk of whether there is mere amusement. It makes little difference. Hawkeye Pierce, Han Solo and other atheist pop culture figures aren't damned.

@LtKoerschgen Completely agree, Atheists have no explanation of the beginning of existence so they have no basis on which to attack theism, and religions cannot proof their theistic hypothesis either, so attacking each other is just douchey. Some religions and their doctrines deserve ridicule especially if they try to force it on others or it involves sacrificing virgins and the end of the world but everything is fair game with Southpark and they're comic geniuses so who cares? :)
