They should be together again :) What I hate is that the series describes InuYasha as a two-timer, but I don't think Kagome understands InuYasha's pain over SUPPOSEDLY losing Kikyo twice. Of course he's going to be upset, but Kagome should understand that. She needs to know that InuYasha is very confused, but also angry on the inside about it. Anyone would be hurt if they thought their one true love died.
While I myself am not a InuKikyo fan, this song does work for them. From Kikyo, Inuyasha learned that no all humans are bad and that it is okay to allow yourself to care for someone. And Kikyou learned that it is okay to have a selfish desire and being womanly wasn't bad. So this song definetly works for them.
