  • Points for Minesota's own Pharyngula! (trying desperately to distract the world from Michelle Bachman)

  • "...could have easily made a lot of hay about" not putting your kids through public school?! Government schooling is great for making obedient workers and soldiers, not free / critical thinkers.

  • @repfreedomforce I will not stand for being told I am not a critical thinker based on where I went to school.

  • @hawkian My criticism is directed at compulsory schooling, not you.

  • Thanks for the Docu...wish my mom was Muffy Moose...she's awesome

  • there is no god, get over it weaklings

  • This is pretty much the complete wrong way to go about helping other understand that there doesn't have to be a conflict between religion and evolution. Then again, you're likely just a stupid troll.

  • is that in the fantasy section of your local bookstore?

  • has anybody been to the website

    expelledexposed dot com

  • yes i believe somebody called harry911tk has been there, has he been on the video hoaxofdodos it would be a good idea for him eh.

  • I see no problem with believing in both god and evolution. Not everyone believes god is some bearded old guy in the sky. God has various meanings to various people. You could see God as the creative force that's responsible for the movement of our universe. Evolution just explains in a scientific way how this force molded us.

  • Evolution isn't a religion. That's like saying plate tectonics is a religion. I'm a Quaker and also an evolutionary biologist, and you are right that evolution makes no claims about the origin of life. It only pertains to changes of life through time. Why would you expect an evolution proponent to answer a question that is outside the realms of evolution?

  • AMEN!

  • Dang, I don't get showtime...I'll have to get someone to TiVo it for me :)

  • LOL - I couldn't have put it better myself!

  • Michael Behe: "My kids don't go to public schools, what do I care?"

    A very telling statement.

  • yes because the american education system has been dumbed down, you are proud of your children being dumbed down eh.

  • Oh yeah, one other thing, in the movie it depicts God existing in the holes in our understanding of our natural world. And shows that as we learn more, those holes grow smaller. In my experience, the more we learn, the more we realize we do not know. There is a n entire sub atomic world we can only speculate on. And there are still plenty of mysteries left to be solved.

  • Finally, even if there is no ID (which I think that ID may well exist). Who is to say that evolution is not one of the many mechanisms that God built into this world. WE have a system that allows for constant change, add competition/natural selection and you have evolution. Whether evolution alone explains our world, I don't now. But I believe God created the world and us in his image. And we don't know enough to say for sure how it was done.

  • So God then is subhuman? Perhaps a monkey-like being?

  • depends on which god you believe in.

  • Also, I'm no Biologist, but I have some questions about the movie. First, is there any benifit to our heart design, rabits and horses digestive systems. For example, is poorly digested horse manure better for the ecosystem and in the long run better for the Horse survival? Can rabbits escape predators better without a lot of food in their gut? or perhaps is it also better for their total fitness in some way (individually or by providing a more lush environment)? Just some questions

  • I hate the fact that for the most part, people treat ID like it's anti evolution. Anyone with an open mind can see the evolutionary process. One look at the complexity of life, and it's hard to imagine evolutionary leaps being the sole explanation. I'd love to see some explanations for the many complex mechanisms in biology.

  • Watch Ken Miller's lecture on ID, and he explains very clearly how complex systems evolve.

  • "I hate the fact that for the most part, people treat ID like it's anti evolution." ID invokes God. Evolution does not need your man-made supernatural magician. Invoking your invisible friend is anti-science. "Anyone with an open mind...". Nothing wrong with an open mind, but if you open it too much your brains will fall out. That would explain why the ID god-did-it creationists are brainless.

  • So you never learned, were taught, found out or could imagine how complex systems evolve, and therefore evolution doesn't work on them?

What if someone doesn't know, couldn't believe or imagine that some birds can navigate using the earth's magnetic field? Does that make it untrue that they can actually do that? Does the magnetic field not exist for this aspect?

    Think about it.

  • "Intellegent Design" needs to go into the same dustbin as the "Flat Earth Society" and those folks who cling to the hope that "one giant leap for mankind" was actually filmed in an arid portion of Arizona somewhere at midnight! Add money and religion to the equation and it is sure to provide some laughs. They too will suffer the fate of extinction and the market place of ideas.

  • Awesome stuff.

  • Good stuff!

  • His kids don't go to public schools, but yet he's leading the fight to teach ID in public schools... What does he care?

    Oh man.

  • Loved the movie! I wish the distribution price was lower so we could have had it in more museums and theaters though (but I understand budgets are tight.)

  • this is good. looking forward to seeing the movie.
