I wish I had borrowed a glider so I can test it once. I know a lot about aerodynamics and aircraft control but never flew a real plane, only remote controlled scale planes. I checked the flightclubs here and the price of a "test flight with an instructor" made me "fly from my seat" 220$! that is just pathetic. 20 minutes of flight only
@leviterande See ushpa.aero for a school near you. A single "test flight" on your own will likely scare the bejesus out of you. Best bet is to go tandem on an aerotow (Enjoy Field in IL, south of Kankakee, is one... there are many other sites in the US). With a series of tandem flights, you can go solo in one season.
@leviterande Thanks for viewing and your comment. There's not THAT much lift that it'll pick up a car or pickup, but it could easily lift a snowmobile, motorcycle or 4trax. Typical line tension doesn't usually exceed 200 pounds, most often it's 100-120 at takeoff and 140-160 for the rest of the tow.
Just so everyone knows, I was just joking around about the Bong thing. I just couldnt pass up the oppourtunity to leave that comment, especially since the main topic of the video is getting some serious airtime.
That Bong joke is so old I fell off my Sopwith Camel laffin'

@leviterande Remember this: flying is the second most thrilling thing known to man... landing is first. That saying came about for a reason.

@Eastsidegeorgiaboy I fully understand, I think 'bong' park would be a great 'joint' to get high at.

@superjezz That should be their motto. "Come to Bong Park, Where You can Get as High as Possible" or something like that.

Do they call it Bong Park because people there like to get High?(In the sky?)
Eastsidegeorgiaboy 1 year ago
The park is named after the top air ace from WWII, Richard Ira Bong, who flew P-38's.
