Jack rabbit was the old rollercoaster clementon park they took it out a few years ago and replaced it with the hell cat. Where the train is at, the jack rabbit was in that area and the train ran underneath it and along side of it.
In the late 60's and early 70's, IBM would have family days at Clementon Park. I remember riding the Jack Rabbit and I was barely tall enough. It was always one thing to look forward to in the summer.
I used to go there alllll the time.. even though I don't know where the hell I was when the jack rabbit crashed, but what I DO remember is that girl who fell off the shooting star.
yeah! I rode that coater every summer Sunday for most of my childhood. The clanking chain pulling the cars up and the first hill were the best part. My grandfathers friend let me stay on for ride after ride if the park was quiet. The creapy part was how they stored old ride parts in the center of the coaster. They had cars from the old ferrris wheel for years.
The park has been sold to an executive from Chase Manhattan Bank/Coca-Cola Six Flags. It's been reported that the new owner has proposed a plan to bring it back, allocating 1.5 million for the project. Its supposedly going to get an entire makeover for the 2008 season.
My first trip to Clementon Lake Park was about 52 years ago, when I was a toddler. I have pictures from that time. I lived more than half my life within 10 miles of there (sad but true). My cousin and I used to fish at the lake when we were kids. I remember the Fun House, the Whip, the Merry-Go-Round, the Arcade, and the paddleboat ride. It's changed a lot since I was a boy. The Jack Rabbit was awesome. Fond memories. Now I live in Florida and visit Disney World.
You guys are all tuff I live behind clementon lake ansd used to go the park every weekend back in the 80's. Its just a shame they charge an arm and a leg and took out all the reides from the forties and fifties. I think the only thing left is the flying saucers.
this coaster isnt small, its just boring and slow coasters dating back before 1950 are much scarier than coasters today cus they shake and rattle like crazy and you feel like your gonna fall out
Unfortunately, the "Jack Rabbit" at Clementon Park is no longer in operation. At last run, it was one of the oldest coasters in the world. Clementon Park built a bigger wooden coaster called J2--- it's awesome.
Cool video. I know what you mean about the small parks. I live very close to Clementon Park(about a mile or two away) and it seems like no one cares about it. People never talk about going there, it's always "lets go to Six Flags." Even though it doesn't have a whole lot, Clementon Park is still a neat place.
Yea I know what u mean. I live about a mile or away from Clementon park as well. I was supposed to go this month but I dont know if I still goin though.
