I know some are like that, but I prefer to think they are the minority. Although, since that's generally the type of people who go to cons, I guess I can't criticize them too much for it. Also, "mini-Japan" I think "mini-Akihabara" would be a bit more accurate, but even that's a stretch.

This video was so bad it was actually a topic of conversation at Ohayocon with some attendees at my booth. Made for some good laughs to say the least.
@iluvhina I only take it as serious as my business. I run an anime store and travel to A LOT of anime cons. I'll let you be the judge how I feel about mis-representing the anime community, my customers and the fine people that staff conventions.

You trying writing a song, the song's lyrics, lighting, finding someone to star/sing your song which you have to pay them for, getting a green screen, filming, editing, sncying, and all before a big con.
@TheGeekForTDI For a quality production, those are all very valid points. But look at this video and seriously ask yourself, how HQ was it? Lyrics, it was the same lines 90% of the song. Fan run cons are volunteers and would most likely have a staffer shoot the video and do the editing for free. Anyone can shoot videos today for next to nothing thanks to computers and affordable HD cameras. I would bet this video cost near nothing in production cost. More than $200 and I'd ask for my money back.

My opinion of the song is from an artistic/technical view (I couldn't stand the vocals, I HAD to mute it); am I the only one highly annoyed that he didn't use the green screen properly? That floating piece of floor, the cropping, and the digital noise around him are highly unprofessional. Even if this didn't make every Anime fan look like an ignorant, bumbling idiot, (which it does) I would be ashamed of the quality. I certainly wouldn't star in it and, hence, paint a target on my head.

Anizona was successful the first 2 years but the third year, everyone knows, wasn't so awesome. Big issues with simple fixes that didn't get made. -like the nasty B.O. in the gaming area that seeped into the main lobby, or the artist alley being oversold because the tables weren't kept track of.- I'm taking up an opinion sheet and will e-mail it to you. This doesn't translate into what you are attempting to do here. Obviously you need a lesson in comprehension. Disagree with my statements, but please don't attempt to twist my words and insult me based on a differing view point. Offer a valid argument and back it up with facts.

Adding "as a general rule" doesn't change the fact that the statement in inherently racist, nor does it change the meaning of the statement. Are you even aware of what the issue is here? And a general rule dictated by whom? You're statement implies that white guys, for whatever reason, can't be rappers. Also, you never acknowledged my first post, where I pointed out your complaints about being pigeon-holed, right after you had done the same thing.

The original post in this video is referring to a white anime fan doing a parody rap video promoting an anime con. Seeing as I spend more time around anime fans, anime cons and this industry than most others, I know as a FACT, rap in the anime world is rare, even among non-white anime fans. This is why the video is bad and why my comments are on topic & support my argument.

To the people that thinks this video/commercial is badly put together, I'd REALLY like to see you try better, give these guys a break! They worked hard on this. You trying writing a song, the song's lyrics, lighting, finding someone to star/sing your song which you have to pay them for, getting a green screen, filming, editing, sncying, and all before a big con.

@TheGeekForTDI For a quality production, those are all very valid points. But look at this video and seriously ask yourself, how HQ was it? Lyrics, it was the same lines 90% of the song. Fan run cons are volunteers and would most likely have a staffer shoot the video and do the editing for free. Anyone can shoot videos today for next to nothing thanks to computers and affordable HD cameras. I would bet this video cost near nothing in production cost. More than $200 and I'd ask for my money back.

My opinion of the song is from an artistic/technical view (I couldn't stand the vocals, I HAD to mute it); am I the only one highly annoyed that he didn't use the green screen properly? That floating piece of floor, the cropping, and the digital noise around him are highly unprofessional. Even if this didn't make every Anime fan look like an ignorant, bumbling idiot, (which it does) I would be ashamed of the quality. I certainly wouldn't star in it and, hence, paint a target on my head.

@candipopu Sure, they may have, but I still would have been ashamed to show myself in a video of such poor quality. But then, I'm an artist trying to make a name for myself, and anything I make and put online can be used against me later when I'm trying to do stuff for clients.

@candipopu I was being productive and ignoring the hate that's going on since I dropped it. Don't care if anyone else did or not. I was on that staff you're talking about, and no, it wasn't our fault for having con goers that had poor hygiene, but it WAS our fault for not appropriately ventilating the room the third year. I was responding to some one else and you just jumped defensive. It's over, done. Onto a better topic. ^_^ Any suggestions to Ciracira will be helpful in making a better con.

Anizona was successful the first 2 years but the third year, everyone knows, wasn't so awesome. Big issues with simple fixes that didn't get made. -like the nasty B.O. in the gaming area that seeped into the main lobby, or the artist alley being oversold because the tables weren't kept track of.- I'm taking up an opinion sheet and will e-mail it to you. I'll try to get the people's e-mails too, since it'll be a campus wide thing. ^_^ Figure you could ask them further if you need anything.
