Get a good tutor, spend some time with Hendrix, SRV and country instructional videos (Roth, Trovato, Moore, Anderson), learn John Mayer's phrasing and accentuation, work on it for 2-3 years for a couple hours a day and you'll be just as good as this, even if you do start from scratch. This guy just took his talent, worked on it and made it sound amazing - stop hating and being jealous and start learning something!

@leozingy John Mayer's a pretty-boy clown. If he wasn't a good looking guy, no one would give a shit about his mediocre playing. In my book, phrasing and accentuation are synonymous with BB, Derek Trucks, Wes, Bill Frisell, and so on. You know, real musicians that are more passionate about their craft, and sensible enough to not talk about their masturbation habits to Rolling Stone. (Oddly enough, Mayer does a good amount of wanking on stage). Good day to you!
