Hey hey it's exactly the same as today! Jewish "freedom-fighters" fighting the British for the creation of a new state, Palestinian "freedom-fighters" fighting the Israelis for the creation of a new state. In fact this entire trailer would work perfectly, without any additional changes, if we made Alfred Molina Israeli and Ido Port Palestinian.
The inconvenient reality is that Israelis were committing terrorism on their colonial masters before independence -- land handed to them for free. But for White Anglo-Saxon Protestants, there probably wouldn't be any Jews, since they stopped Fascism. Fascism is a catholic phenomenon. Fascism never garnered more than 10% of the vote in any majority Protestant country. As for crediting slavic communist russians, they sat by until attacked. GB engaged without being attacked. Nazis were socialists.
@jkirk1626 Fascism isn't religiously associated, it's primarily political and regional, if you'd be willing to say that. The Nazis were fascist, but they sometimes used socialist policies. It does't make them socialist.
Is very well done, the fact that the character Ido plays is struggling to find his place in a dangerous & divided place is very well depicted. The view of the film from a kid's point of view is fresh and very moving. The meeting later on between him and British soldier is very traumatic.
great movie I really liked it
