its not, that everything just vanish, most of the pieces are much smaller because they zoom out a lot, the robot is much larger than the car.

because you cant see the zoom by the background (because its just one colour) it looks like the parts shrink..... so its not as crappy as you think ;)

anyone notice that everything well almost everything turns into nothing then a robot comes? seriously if you don't believe me try to fokus on something like the door then u'll see its ''transtorms'' into nothing then suddenly there's a robot and look the doors and tires are suddenly smaller lol

They didn't cheat, all the transformers were digittally recreated as cars then transformed... thats why there aren't that many transformers cause they didn't make it intot he final scrpit

Look at 0:48. As Bumblebee transforms, where does all of the robot go? You'll even see that the hood comes out from inside his back, when we plainly see it fold forward in several pieces to form his chest at 0:31.

1:44. Watch Bumblebee transform. Again, too small a package for a robot that size.

3:28. HUGE cheating there with Megatron's cannon.

They're distracting the audience with too many shiny things, hoping no one will notice.

mate, to be honest, i wish every day when i wake up that they used the G-1 style simple transformations for the movie... i mean, im taking animation them days, but... it's a huge obstacle building such an animation considering that half the body just disappears... into no where... -_-...

You've probably heard this argument before, but if the transformations were more simple, not only would they be more aesthetically correct in terms of TF continuity and just robotics in general, but it'd also be significantly less expensive. If that were the case, maybe the movie would actually be ABOUT the Transformers, not just using them for props and plot devices. ;S

Its a movie, fantasy, many directors fail to realize it CAN be done and doesn't *have* to take place *now*. A prequel if you will =D

This was decent, but the movie Transformers were better. It seems the truck compacts into a smaller point, while the robot folds out of the parts that are folding in, more like the robot is coming out of the truck, and less like the robot is forming from the truck. But still, I myself couldn't do that myself. So I say it's still pretty good.
