Probably Lloyd's second best team (99 would be the other contender). The OSU loss stung, but it was downright depressing when they didn't even show up mentally in the Rose Bowl.
@Wolvesq That's true, but USC was loaded that year. If USC didn't have a few injuries that led to a few bad upsets then USC could have easily gone undefeated. But Michigan definitely could've won that Rose Bowl.
This was my brother's first game at the Big House. We had the General Motors Executive Seats. Row 2 behind the Wisconsin bench. It's actually the section that extends out into the field so it's closer than other row 2s. It was absolutely amazing. Got to talk junk to the guys on the sideline and hear the pads smack and the coaches yell. I didn't think this would be Wisconsin's only loss of the year, Michigan beat a great team that day!
2) The coaching search in 2007 ended in a debacle, causing M to hire a coach who, while successful, runs a very different football program from what was Michigan style since 1969.
3) Most of the bluechip recruits since 2006 were either massive busts or left the program.
Look at Texas now...they just took an arguably greater fall than we did and didn't suffer a single coaching change.
I second that laxie, I'm not big into changing the traditional michigan play. This is the big ten the power conference. We will no longer be getting the big solid tough running backs or lineman that we have been known for.
I agree with you completely, hiring RichRod was essentially trading physical play and dominant defense for flashy offense. Really somewhat a dumbfounding trade of systems, but defines college football at the moment
Not exactly, Rich Rod's system is a spread-option, run-oriented spread. Physical play is still important on the line, just instead of power-I formations, the goal of the offense is spread the field to create more room for faster runners. Bo used an option-type offense before as well. Not really a dumbfounding trade when you look at how well the spread has been doing. We used the spread against Florida in Carr's last game, and before that, spread teams were killing us.
well the big ten traditional style of offense is exactly why they've become a joke across the country, its either adapt to the spread or continue getting dominated by the sec and pac 10.
i support rich rod, and all other michigan fans should too, its dissappointing to hear all the whining and complaining in the big house, i swear to god we have awful fans
My brother and I had some seats from GM, 2nd row behind the Wisconsin bench. That's the section where the first 4 rows actually come closer to the field, I'm sure I'll never sit there again. What a great afternoon.
I played high school football against #4 Darnell Hood from Michigan. i couldnt belive the radio when I heard Michigan beat Wisconsin.... when I had last heard it was 19-0 at half and I turned off the radio. GO BLue.

Our defense was so good that year. Look at how many are in the nfl. Woodley, Hall, Trent, Harris, Branch. Then don't get me started on the offense.

I was at this game. Great game. Took a while for Michigan to get going and a turnover on the punt late in the first to get back into the game.
I remember calling the TD to Manningham in the corner right before it happened to my mom.
