my original training was in shudokan karate, and this is not it. if you actually practice it and made this as a practice set for your school, fine... but this doesn't represent what the style actually comprises

Everyone should learn this. You never know when you may need to take down a group of men that cooperate completely with everthing you do, and even fall when they need to. I'm sure sold.

I have a brown belt in Shudokan Karate. This **is NOT** Shudokan Karate. This is not Shudokan Judo. This is not Shudokan Aikido. This looks more like Japanese Folk Dancing to me. :(
I'm not going to put this down... I am going to say that this is not shudokan aikido.
I do think the 'shudo' thing is a bit... well taking away the kan bit makes it the 'way to study' i think. Which suggests to me that they're going for a rather more intellectual martial artist. that might be called pretentious by some.. it wasn't by me.. but it could be by some
Dude, total crap. I practice Shudokan now, and this is NOWHERE NEAR the real thing. Look up Kanken Toyama or Anko Itosu for the real history of real karate and real shudokan.
actually, Kyokushinkai was formed some 30 years after Shudokan. If however, you want to debate which is better/more effective that another matter which I won't get into.
Here's something: If it works, I don't care how old its from! Oi, you wanna know the OLDEST martial art? It's Greco-Roman WRESTLING. But I have seen many MANY videos of many "masters" do things and embarrased students say "That's not t3h r34l stuff!" when in fact, yeah, it is.
my point was that you were saying Kyokushinkai is the only "real" karate (perhaps you also ment that it is the best) therefore I was stating that Shudokan has been around longer which means it is at least as "valid" as kyokoshin, but that I am not going to get into an argument about which is better as they are both effective in their own way.
Actually, historically speaking, the oldest "martial art" is wrestling from India, which is not only the birthplace of civilization, but also the art that Buddha knew when he traveled to China and is also the true foundation of Kung Fu.
ok, there is a style of Karate known as shudokan that dates back to about 1930 (look up Kanken Toyama for a good history). I do not recognise anything form that style in this video however.
What other styles? Just checkin' your track record. I refuse to argue with brainwashed single style/sensei ignaramuses who've never gone beyond their own dojo because they're too freaking close minded to see the outside world.
"a new approach to martial art?" HAHAHA! Well...it's definitely a NEW approach, that's for sure. They better watch out though...the Ki Society Aikido practitioners are gonna be pissed for 'copyright technique infringement' or some shit.
The war of Ki is coming...and I want from row seats.
