thats an interesting way of doing it but you should try using vray autograss it speeds up this 8 minute tutorial into about 30 seconds

Thanks this really helped alot, made my jungle scene look far more realistic!

One problem i was coming across was if my scene was in editable mesh it wouldn't allow the vertex paint to work properly, had to be in editable poly. Took me ages to figure out that.

Sorry... but 3ds is difficulty only when you not know it! :)

If you study 3ds... it is a incredble cool software.... the know is the base!
