  • Movie Gone With The Wind is the maximum masterpiece permanently memorized on history of film in the world.

  • i just have to say, i saw your tribute video a year or so ago and i loved it a lot and have been trying to find it ever since. i really just think the song choice oddly fits so perfectly and you tell the story so concisely in 5 minutes. i love it. and i normally really don't like these kinds of compilation videos. but yours is done so well!

  • <33333

  • I don't understand why people are arguing doesn't matter who likes it or not that really occurred. And nothing no one say can change that. It was based on that certain life style era so get over it. Gone With The Wind is a beautiful piece of cinema and it will forever be a classic. If you don't appreciate maybe you have problems I don't know?

  • Why is there so much controversy on a film that was based on true events of our American history? The reality is, is that like it or not, stuff happened, and just because people want to retell a story from history that doesn't mean that they are racist, they are simply including events that actually took place. There are films about the Holocaust and Hitler, which is apart of our history but people don't view that as racist they view it as historical and educational.....

  • I really like the song :)

  • Regardless of the political correctness mentalities of today it's easy to look around TODAY and find that we still suffer from racism, sexism, slavery, ignorance. I've lived in the north and south of the USA and found that the biggest difference between the two is the weather. Ignorance and hate aren't regional. And people being sold into slavery still happens in Europe and eastern Europe.

  • what's most disgusting about this film is how rhett butler is a lot like a pedophile with scarlet. she doesn't want him but he pushes himself on her. he uses the excuse that he's older and wiser to 'teach' her a lesson or whatever. it's natural for her to be attracted to someone more closely her age.

  • @yowurstnitmare

Isn't that a bit exagerated to speak of "child abuse" ? If i'm not mistaken, age gap was a common place in those years. Moreoever, he sees through her and provokes her so she realizes the mistake she's making by falling for Ashley. There's nothing wrong about all this.

  • i love this song and its not on ITUNES.....fuckin pissed!

  • @stellardude155

Then copy the youtube url and go to listen to youtube.com (no spaces). paste the url into the box, press go, wait for it to load. press download mp3, and another page will load. again press download mp3, and save the file. there, the song is not on your computer.

  • @rosedawson12 thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • I love this song but I can't find it ANYWHERE. Help?

  • i normally don't like montages from films, but this one was awesome

  • At 4.00 Vivien leigh looks wonderful..

  • i know that GWTW is racist, sexist, and has a million other bad things in it. But you know what? That's what people acted like back then. It was the South during the civil war of course people were racist and sexist, and you know what Scarlett is not a good person, nobody denies this. I for one LOVE this movie because it is so gritty, and while its romanticized in places it is also unbelievably harsh, its unlike any other movie i've ever seen. If you wanted rainbows and puppies go elsewhere.

  • GWTW is a novel unapoligetically reflecting the status quo and the mentality of southern society in those days. Would it be better if it had tried to gloss over these facts, water them down and pretend they didn't exist? I don't think so. We need to face exactly what happened. When people say they love GWTW, they refer to the Scarlett-Rhett-Ashley love-triangle. They are not necessarily condoning the horrific historical background.

  • @IsisTiamat sometimes art needs to portray these things to keep reminding us how horrible they were so we remember never to repeat our mistakes historically. that is the savage beauty of art like this, i think.

  • Gone with the wind reflected how the US was back during the Civil War. It's a shame that not much has changed. Take the movie for what it is because this was reality for those living back then and for those living post civil war. There are still parts of the south that refuses to get with the times, and that to me is truly, truly SAD!

  • I love this song.

  • I never wouldv'e chosen this song but oddly enough it seems to be just right.

  • What an absurd choice of music!!

  • 5.19 shows child abuse, racism & slavery. well portrayed.

  • Comment removed

  • @maddym27 not anybody's fault. in that era there were not many color films & the industry was not as advanced as now. the people of the US were very racist at the time & was not that sensitive to issues like child abuse & slavery. but for its time the filming & production was really good.

  • @maddym27 Saying that "Gone With The Wind" has problems is like saying Jesus was a trouble-maker.

  • @maddym27

Well i'm sorry, the movie is not to blame... Cause it pictures what that time really was. And yes America (at least a part of it) at that time was racist, pro-slavery and the list could go on for ever, but this is precisely that, that is gone with the Civil war's wind !

  • @pinklady051 couldn't have said it better myself

  • @gy3462 thank you =D

  • @maddym27 It is a Classic that endures. It is set in Civil War period, naturally slavery is shown in the movie. Women's rights weren't even thought of in this time-frame. The focus of the movie was Scarlett, her personality, flaws, strengths & how she lived through a war. It is also about romantic love. It is relatively neutral re: slavery, considering the time period it reflects. BTW, why disparage your own efforts?

  • @maddym27 The person who opined GWTW is 'racist, sexist, etc....' is entitled to their opinion. But you aren't obliged to agree with them & diminish what you have created. GWTW reflects the time frame of the events/culture of Civil War South.

  • @maddym27 ... are you serious? GWTW is the OPPOSITE of racist and sexist. You have to consider when the book was written and the time period they are portraying. Scarlett O Hara is a strong, independent woman who doesn't rely on a man to survive. That was unheard of back during the Civil War era. Mamie is seen as an affectionate motherly type but she also commands respect from everyone around her and is one of the first strong and respected African American characters in American cinema.

  • @maddym27 gone with the wind is a powerful story because it shows the way the world was at a certain time--the time of the civil war and, in a sense, the time the film was made-1939. it may be hard to watch in some ways, but it is an incredible story because it shows the unraveling of a spoiled rich kid who starts out oblivious to the world around her and eventually loses everything because, as it turns out, the world does not revolve around her. thanks for making this!! i actually love it.

  • @maddym27 You are mad. This book is a classic. Scarlett is a perfectly portrayed character. Any body can make a video- can you write a book like that?

  • Great job, maddym27! I don't care what anybody says! Exceptional!! : )

  • well, I like it, maddym27! Exceptional!! : )

  • I get it -well done my friend

  • One of my all-time favorite songs, I'm happy to see SOMEONE doing right by it (don't listen to the haters).

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Great clips from the movie, the song kicks ass and actually goes great with some of the clips. Excellent! My favorite gone with the wind video.

  • La mejor pelicula que ha existido

  • wow this could be a real video if it wasn't already a movie. In a good way!!!

  • the music is so out of context with the film and the era it was released...i don't understand the point of using a song like this!

apart from that the clips are brilliant!

  • Stupid song!

  • Beautifully Done!

  • THIS HAS A BIT OF AN EDGE TO IT LOVE IT

  • wow! i love how the song goes prefectly with the movie and life in general! <3 GREAT JOB! and thanks for making it

  • Gone with the wind is my favourite movie. I really love it very much.

  • Actually, those comments are not in Russian but Polish. Just for the record. :)

  • Haha!

  • You wanted to make a point, but didnt achieve anything, because firstly, the movie was released in Russia almost twenty years ago; secondly, Georgia does not have to do with anything; and thirdly, the Russians are a very intelligent and cultured nation and you are too dumb and ignorant to even talk about the Russians.

  • Vivien Leigh to była piękna, uzdolniona, a zarazem wrażliwa aktorka. W sposób niemal idealny odzwierciedliła postać "Scarlett". Ona nadal "żyje", poprostu nie przeminęła...........:)

  • Vivein Leigh to była piękna i uzdolniona a zarazem wrażliwa aktorka. Ona "żyje " nadal, poprostu nie przeminęła........................

  • don't listen to the haters. i think the song goes alright with it.

  • Music choice is ridiculous. What were you thinking? And some of the scenes are only onscreen for less than a second. Delete and try again, this movie deserves better.

  • Im sorry your so hard on yourself.

  • I agree

  • Wrong music: this film pairs it badly.

  • the video is excellent, but not the song.

  • Thank you for this! I love it. One of my All time Favorite movies!

  • im a civil war fanatic! wen i got the movie on christmas i watched it like 3 times in a row, i know it doesnt sound liek much but thats a 4 hour movieso i was really impressed with myself

  • you're absolutely right jamfreestyleskate, after all the cradle of life is Africa! This i my favourite all time movie, and what you have to appreciate is that it is a period film and it is representing the culture of the time, whether right or wrong by todays standards! and please lets not forget that Hattie McDaniel actually won an Oscar for her portrayal of "Mammy" in this film! God bless her!

  • very good video

  • i dont get it d book n d movie should be the same but they r different y ? i think that if d movie was based on d book then that will means that every thing should be d same i think that making changes just destroy the author right completly !

  • What's that song? tell me sumbody plizz

  • It's in the info about the music video.

  • nice video which song is it and by whom?

  • Great video- this is my all time favorite! The book is so different from the movie and to see Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in the largest times in their lives (both were newlyweds)- it's grat!

  • I tell ya..a 70 year old movie w/ alt. rock soundtrack over it HOLDS its own on YouTube! MGM musta done something right!!!

  • the movie was first released n 17 january 1939 which means that its a 69 year old movie not 70 yet !

  • "the movie was first released n 17 january 1939 which means that its a 69 year old movie not 70 yet !"

No, actually. They first premiered the film in Atlanta in December of 1939.

  • Try the video called gone with the wind by MellyWilkes. It has a cool song too.

  • Oh yeah, the video called Gone With the Wind video by ForgottenQueen has a good song too.

  • Unusual choice of music, but I love it! Tara forever!

  • this is my fave movie ever!-i think it's one film that should NEVER be remaid!-i think the actors immotalized the roles/film!-love the jail scene were she bites him!lol

  • @26mae1987 i think if it ever got "remaid" it would surely clean up

  • My favoirute part of the film is when Scarlet is heading for Tara, and the ending Scene.

  • It remembers me of the beautiful Ecuadorian South soil in Ecuador with his crytaline rivers and lagoons And how my grandparens worked hard on their farm with the cows

  • I love the book, the movie, Margareth Mitchell, and Rhet and Ashley, and Scarlett the most:D cool...

  • My favorite quotes from the movie would have to be: (scarlet throws glass at wall) Rhett sits up from couch and whistles "Has the war started already?"

    AND

(end of movie and scarlett is asking what she should do when he leaves) "Frankly my dear, i don't give a damn."

  • my alltime favorite movie in the world!!! It's so sad in the end but i love it all the same :)

  • That red dress rhet forced her to wear was surreal. And she looked like something out a dream wearing. I wonder where it is now?

  • All the costumes are in a vault in Hollywood cause they are deteriorating.

  • Greatest movie I have ever watched!

  • Anyone knows what the book is called in French? I can't figure it out.

If anyone could help, I would be grateful :D

  • autant en emporte le vent.

  • Thank you ;-D

  • If this was only the second video you made, you really know what you are doing. great job on the edit, the music fit to the scenes perfectly. 5 stars.

  • The song is fantastic and I've grown kinda addicted to the video.. I just can't get enough! :)

  • rhett butler is my favourite character. He's a man that every men would like to be

  • Rhet marrieda badgirl.Sheoften communicated withScarlett. Then took her notes and send them to Rhet all made up hurribly bad. that is why she died.

  • Hey check out my vid. Just type in: "The Top 10 Greatest Movies Ever Made!"

    Thanks ;)

  • Ashley Wilkes is a rabbit.

  • it was a good video...not great though. im not trying to be mean, i guess i just didnt like the song, it didnt seem to fit with the movie. it was a well done video though, but in my opinion u should have stopped the music at the end and let them say their famous lines

  • Haha, yeahhh I probably should have, but this was only the second MV I ever made in my life, and I wasn't too familiar with the program yet.

As for the song, the lyrics remind me of the movie, although apparently no one else agrees with me on that. And yet, inexplicably, this MV has a lot of hits. Beats me.

  • I like the silent end in the video, I left it in the one I made, but the silence fits better in this video.

  • I think wonderful song and video too. I like it. Thanks.

  • I think that you did a fabulous job! i even downloaded the song.

I have seen the movie a million times and read the book just as many and even though this song has nothing to do with the movie it works somehow

  • the soundtrack sounds badly

  • I guess you had some idea in mind . . . but why are so many of the scenes out of order? What was the point? Evidently I missed it . . . and I did not write this to insult - I just didn't get it.

  • Why would you change the beautiful score/soundtrack of Gone with the Wind??? spoiled it for me.....

  • I am never more irritated than by the pop-Gablecentric sorts who promote the notion that this epic story about a young woman's survival ends when a man walks out on her. It doesn't. Scarlett rises after Rhett retreats. Any analysis that doesn't recognize that goes into the trash bin of delete.

  • I didn't know there were people who saw the story that way. I see this more as an epic tale of bad timing, primarily the bad timing of when Rhett and Scarlet fall in and out of love with each other. At the end Scarlett learns she was pushing Rhett away when they needed each other. Even if they never get back together Scarlett is better for the experience b/c she revives her determination and pride.

Is that you think also, or do you think the story is more about Scarlett than about relationships?

  • Have you read the book? Like the movie, it begins and ends with Scarlett at Tara. Gone with the Wind is indeed a story about relationships - primarily the relationship between Scarlett and her beloved home. Tara is the only thing worth working for, worth fighting for, worth dying for. Rhett can kiss my grits. Scarlett is the survivor in this story. She'll get along fine without him. This is reflected by the end of the movie, which you truncated.

  • i didn't know youtube was becoming a center for feminist literary criticism. I've read Gwtw many, many times and saw the movie many times. Its about Scarlett's relationship with Rhett just as much as Tara. Mostly, it's about how Scarlett struggles for survival in spite of everything. And Margaret Mitchell said so herself.

  • I lack the credentials for being a literary critic, feminist or otherwise, but thanks. You seem to have an axe to grind, or a hammer to wield. Well, of course Gone with the Wind is about Scarlett's relationships... At the risk of sounding like an academic instead of a guy who loves literature, aren't all novels about relationships of one sort or another? Perhaps you didn't realize that I was replying to a comment that reduced Margaret Mitchell's brilliant pestry to just a single thread.

  • well said; "You seem to have an axe to grind, or a hammer to wield"!!!

  • I share your opinion, but you have to admit that there are times that Scarlett has gone too far. Though, I love her all the same.

  • Scarlet was stupid asking poor Rhett what should she do where should she go as ifshehadnowill of her own that is why she walked out on her to begin with. He really did not love her in the end. SAD

  • well i think it's good.

  • How is possible for someone to take off the original soundtrack and kill this fabulous scenes with music that has nothing to do with this great film?

  • You're the one who searched for "Gone With the Wind" on YouTube, sweetheart.

  • what song is this?

  • No Max Steiner?

  • ahh brian atene!!!

  • I agree...I'm making you a little something.

  • the movie has been modified.i always thought there were so many important aspects from the book the directors could considerate..it's still the best movie ever

  • beautiful

  • i really enjoy seeing this video! The song suits the movie pieces which were chosen very well.

I love "gone with the wind"! Great movie! And this is a very cool video!

  • i bet youre a fan.

  • *good

  • what song is this?

    it's really nice..

what editing program do u have? you did a really go job

  • Thank you! I used Windows Movie Maker (which I don't even recommend, it kinda blows ... but I do my best on it).

The song is "Break the Bed" by the Odds.

  • this is amazing!

  • Terrific editing - shows a lot of work!

  • LOVED this video. excellent job with it.
