Even better - replace the LCD with an array of RGB LEDs and make a jumbo LED matrix display from it. I'd put something like that in the rear window of my car and use it to display "friendly suggestions" to drivers that don't use a turn signal _before_ they change lanes.

You really need to describe how you did that. I think that if I did this and removed the screen, I could place it in front of some high powered leds and make a mini projector.
That's nice! How did you manage to achieve that? I would imagine you had to dismantle the device? Or was this a purely software implementation? I bought a bigger digital frame today and it only plays JPGs, much to my dismay and wanted to try and find hacks for frames.
