Alan Greenspan believed in a ideology peddled by Ayn Rand a Russian lady who wrote a book in the 50s called 'Atlas Shrugged' which championed selfishness as a positive means of doing business and look where that got the world! Greenspan should be sharing a cell with Bernie Madoff!

what I find perplexing is that he looked to history to support his position that home prices could never go down; yet he ignored history when he theorized that markets always regulate themselves. You just need to open up an book about the Great Depression or the Panic of 1907 to know that. Very, very perplexing.
