  • Only playoff series win for GSW between the Rick Barry and Don Nelson eras.

  • Warriors won this game to complete the upset of the Jazz after being down 0-2.......

  • Someonre please tell me why Jim Lampley didnt draw any NBA play by play assignments while he was at CBS

  • Tim Brandt was a pretty good announcer

  • Great post but why do you just have the intro and not the rest of the game(s)? I don't get it? You just taped the intro and stopped it? I would LOVE to see the whole game in it's entirety and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I remember this series well and Karl Malone avg something like 30 pts and 16 rebs for the series.

  • Karl Malone and John Stockton not being able to close out a series, where have I heard that before?

  • Frank Layden-is he still alive? He was quite a character! The Jazz, with Mailman Malone and John Stockton are one of my favorite teams of all time.

  • Look how young George Karl looked!

  • SLC had a larger arena before the Delta Center, but there was no way the U of U would let the NBA play at the Huntsman Center. The other option would have been to split the schedule between U of U and BYU, which has a 22,700-seat arena in Provo. Or the Jazz could have played some at Ogden at Weber St.

  • 1. Look how small the Salt Palace was. Absolutely dinky by NBA standards.

    2. George Karl once coached the Warriors? I had no idea.

  • Those "dinky" standards were when fans were right on top of the action and really could sway the outcome of the game. Before the NBA ownership became concerned with luxury suites for rich non-fans.

  • Well, "dinky" as in it only held 10,000 people. I'd imagine the NBA hadn't had a team in an arena that small since the 1950s.

The Jazz's current arena holds twice that many people and it's still intimate and extremely loud.

  • who was the play by play announcer?

  • It sounds like tim brandt.

  • None other than Tim Brandt, who got to work with legends like Hank Stram on the NFL and Keith Jackson on college football.

  • Tim Brandt and Billy Packer would have drawn the assigment for Jazz/Lakers game 1 from the from The Forum, but of course Golden State came back and won the series. Lucky for the Lakers

  • somebody needs to put this game on!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I still am amazed how those Warriors won that series.

They weren't as good as the Run TMC teams or the 2007 team.

  • The Warriors were in the playoffs for the first time since the Barry-Thurmond-Ray heyday of 1975 and 1976.

  • According to wikipedia, Billy Packer was the analyst for this game. Hard to imagine Billy doing an NBA game. Does anyone out there have any of the game broadcast of this game?

  • saw replay of this game on classic sports, packer did do color for game

  • put the game!!
