I can see how people can get offended/annoyed about Arabs being portrayed as villains AGAIN (even if the main villain is American). Many British actors get cast as villains too. I just remember films go in phases, often reflecting either current events or current trends in media (and sometimes historical events). When I look at film history as a whole, I don't think there is a single group who hasn't had their turn at being the bad guy. It is just media attention, however long or short that is.

@studentofknowledge77 We're in the middle of a war in Afganistan, and if I remember the dates right, we were in Iraq at the time as well. He was aiding the effort, I'm not sure how you're finding that offensive. Also if you remember, his main reason for heading over was to destroy some weapons of his that had been dealt under the table. It made sense plot-wise for him to stop and help some hostages nearby.

@twilightevans in science fiction the thing that does that is called inertial dampener. It sort of excludes the inertia in relation to outside of the suit. Through that every fall or some other shit is not applicable to the person inside.

The fact that in the end he lets the villagers mete out their OWN justice on the thug actually responsible for the attack on their town and their humiliation was the perfect thing to do. He could have meted out his own vengeance on one of the men responsible for kidnapping him. But he remembered his friend Yinsen and realized that these people had suffered more than he ever had at this man's hands.

Despite all his faults, RIGHT THERE Tony Stark became a hero.
