@goattke yeah I know I heard people sayin stuff bout it like a week after that haha but hell every year the billboards go up and so does the smile on my face lol
i attend every year and well im one of those who drink to much and go cut donuts or burnouts or race but i stay in the camp ground and everyone there is cheerin me on!! so ig there is a split in the middle i have been on the streets up there and the cops rootin for me to do a burnout so im all for the fun forget the complaints
Always a fun time at this show. Kinda crazy when night falls, that it the best part of the weekend. Saturday nights are off the hook, let the rubber fly.
unfortunately, in an effort to have fun, some people get stupid. I love diesel trucks and diesel motorsports, but just like everything else, there are a few who could ruin it for the many. i witnessed this a lot at this years show.
Not really sure what the "unfortunate" part you speak about is. People work all week and wanna have fun. How do you figure they will " ruin" it for others?? EPA mandates will come sooner or later for the diesel world, these events have nothing to do with those. When you get thousands of people together in a small area, things are gonna happen. Its called life, its unscripted and shit happens.
sorry, i didn't elaborate enough, that's my fault. i noticed there were a LOT of people out there that consumed too much alcohol then got out and had fun. i don't have an issue with the people who get out and do burnouts and things like that, i'm right in there with them. what people will remember however is not those of us that have fun like that, but they'll remember the drunks. they will then add up that since this was a diesel event then all diesel owners are drunken rednecks
Ok, kotton, if you'll actually READ my statement, what I said was because of the people that get out, get drunk, and get stupid, all most people will remember are the one's that ARE drunken rednecks, therefore casting the show, and diesel enthusiasts in general, in a negative light.
And really, a sunfire? You couldn't come up with a better loser car? Actually, although I don't drive a diesel (yet) I happen to own a Chevy Trailblazer and a Dodge Dakota with a 318, but a diesel is coming soon
i've heard a lot of people complain in the terre haute area (since i live there) about the drunks during that weekend. it seems like that's all that people remembered. that's what i meant by the few ruining it for the many. if the people of an area only remember the bad things about an event, they won't want it back.

Yeah, I have been to every single show so far. It helps that I live in Terre Haute, but I would drive out of town to go if I had to.
