  • What is the effective range of the M-14? What weapon does the modern Marines use? What weapon does the Army use? What is the difference between the M-14 and the M-16? Can a civilian buy a M-14 or a M-16. Or are these weapons military use only?

  • @whitetruck76 I have no idea of the effective range, the modern Marine uses the M16, the Army uses the M16, but both branches can use the weapon as a DMR platform. The difference in the M14 and M16 are it's caliber among others. A civilian can buy Semi-Automatic variants of the M16 and M14, although both are labled differently from it's military counterpart.

  • I used an M-14 on zombies, then 5 hours later on an Iraqi.

  • MARINES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DIE WITHOUT PERMISSION!!! hahaha

  • I love this!!!

  • Where is this range, because I'm fairly certain I've shot on it? (I assume it's in England, where the rest of the film was shot.)

  • In a world of shit!

  • bravo foxtrot

  • hell yes m14s

  • The conversation between myself and GOD was very similar to the dialogue Senior Drill Instructor Hartman and Private Joker. Specially about the "Virgin Mary." That is why I call HIM MOTHER-F%#KER. It all has to do with Mount Mother-F%$ker as well.

  • "marines dont have permission to die" LOLMAO

  • PRIVATE PYLE!!!!

  • "And then you will be in a world of shit, because marines are not allowed to die without permission" hahaha! i lost it!

  • 5 guys died without permission, and they now in the world of shit

  • Oh Pyle, you had a lot of potential. You'd be a damn good sniper...

  • This range is Barton Road, near Cambridge, UK.

  • @jongiant really because i shot at this range at Parris Island,SC when i went through boot.... so tell me how its in England?

  • @TheDjBlitzification

I really don't wish to get into an argument, but Kubrick shot the whole film in the UK.

The camp scenes were done at Bassingbourne Barracks, Cambridge, UK. Just check out the road markings in the marching scenes, we drive on the left!

Barton Road is a range a few miles down the road from Bassingbourne.

The Vietnam scenes were shot in East London.

The film makers are very good making the scenes believable!

A quick google search will confirm all this.

    -Jon

  • @jongiant that's why I always wondered why there was not a single shot in a jungle,as I had watched in many, many Vietnaw War based movies, like Apocalypse Now(which was shot in Phillippines,no too much different from Vietnam in enviroment terms)

  • I wish I can see the full movie right now, dang.

  • Yeah Sergeant Hartman he's good at that and he's going to show you just how good he is later.

My favorite gun range scene is the one in Biloxi blues where someone shoots the DIs jeep.

  • Marines are not allowed to die without permission .. CLASSIC

  • the world was a dark place...it was ruled by dictators, imperialist, and socialistic dictators...and then came the United States Marine...the most feared warrior on this planet...and God saw that it was Good...and he told the Marine to go forth and lay a path for All who believe in Me and Freedom to follow...and this the Marine did...and He was Rewarded Into the Gates of Heaven and Revered by All as One who FOUGHT FOR FREEDOM OF THE PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD!

  • @goldendoomer you got that shit right. !!

  • 5 people got their grave pissed on.

  • The entire film was made in LONDON. Look at the scenes where they are running/marching on the road. All the traffic markings are on the left hand side.

All the town fighting scenes are the old Becton gas works in Newham, East London.

I clearly remember them filming it all.

The camp scene here is Lippits Hill in Essex.

An awesome film but non of it was filmed in Parris Island

  • @stones4df

The obstacles at MCRD did look a lot different from the ones in the movie. The stair way to heaven for example was made entirely of logs and not planks of wood.

  • I didn't realize how much of Full Metal Jacket 'mirrored' an old movie called The D.I.

  • @TomKaren1994

There have been many movies about Drill Instructors. Lee Emery Himself played a DI in the movie THE BOYS FROM COMPANY C.

  • When somebody scores that high you should pull them from boot and start relevant training.

  • Pvt Pile is fcking funny

  • @kingpin1904 HI JOKER... :]

  • @RussellClank

I just made that comment on another video, how strange.

  • If your in god's side post this on 10 walls . If your on the devil's side ignore it. God will do two things for you tonighT

  • I look kinda like Pyle (and can do the creepy stare pretty well). I recently did summer school at a military school. My JROTC teacher kinda reminds me of Ermey.

In the first week, we did the obstacle course. Guess which one I got stuck on.

When the cadet battalion S-1 was showing us a drill rifle, I tried to do the "this one's for fighting, this one's for fun" thing.

Later on, we went to the rifle range. I got the highest score (almost sharpshooter-qualifying).

I am Pyle and I am proud.

  • @SamHagagaga I never fired a gun but I'd put good money on producing the same results.

  • @baron8107 Which part? Being sharpshooter proficiency, or going ape shit and blowing away your Drill Sgt. a day later?

    lol

  • @EXRazeBurn The proficiency, but I would reach my tipping point with a Hartman wannabe.

  • Yeah, Pile does that well. Even in the bathroom...

  • In Navy boot camp the best compliment I got came with two weeks of boot camp left and it was "Seaman Recruit Blaes, You are the laziest Recruit I have EVER seen." I stood double 4 hour watch's in the middle of the day. I was just to smart to get punished for being lazy. My Chief was a Filipino and you can imagine the accent.

  • ever wonder where drill sergeants get there on the spot insult skills, anyone hm anyone most of them were comedians before the war that they signed up for

  • i like how in the usmc everyone is a rifle man

  • you will become dead marines, and then you will be in a world of shit!

  • R. Lee Ermey for president

    thumbs up if you agree

  • @bman4099

    I would've if you didn't ask for thumbs-ups like a total tool.

    R. Lee Erney for president goes without saying!

  • @bman4099 I don't normally agree with comments asking for a thumbs up but I have to agree with you on that one.

  • marines never cry.. we trained so damn hard even our eyeballs fuckin sweat

  • This video reminds me of my cousin.

"ARE YOU A FAGGOT PVT SMITH?!?"

"SIR! DON'T ASK DON'T TELL SIR!

  • marines arnt aloud to die with out permision! hahahah r .lee ermy your my hero

  • Comment removed

  • 0:52 wrist 0:58 Wristband

  • @ACDCJCUSMC a good eye...

  • Check out the M-14s. Fine rifles.

  • @schnellguy i has one! <3 i love it

  • its a shame pvt. pyle shot himself. oh well he managed to get a headshot on him self, lets see those so called expert COD players do that!

  • @rejuised Let's hope they do that!

  • @Mattlarrivee too right

  • 5 people hesitated to fire

  • @berner ... google has nothing to do with it, it goes back to Microsoft and apple which ever you have

    dumbass

  • Deadliest weapon in the world is a drunk marine behind the wheel

  • @Houseofthe7gayboys not true. i haven't killed anyone......yet.

  • hahaha he actually gave him a compliment?

the best compliment i got in boot camp was "Rexroad for once you mightve actually done something not completely shitty"

  • @showdownrocks well thats sad

  • @showdownrocks But deep down it feels actually really great eh?

  • @toxikblood haha not deep down as soon as he walked away i was openely excited! high fived the guy next to me

  • @showdownrocks haha awesome! Those kind of things seems great, I could go in a boot camp but the army is not for me, I have too much respect for the life of others : /

  • @showdownrocks

Lookin forward to boot camp now. lol.

  • @showdownrocks 2nd best compliment I got in basic was "damn, you can share a fox with me anytime. They didn't come to fast, and we didn't run out of ammo, I bet we could take 'em."

First best had to do with a PX break, and a 6 pack of beer. We're not going there.

  • @showdownrocks the closest thing i got was "Sheldon, i'm gonna get rid of you. and this is how i'm gonna do it." my mti was talking about inspections. i graduated on time

  • @showdownrocks thankyou for your service

  • @showdownrocks I'm the best shooter that my drill sergeant's ever seen, I ended up as a sniper. I will always bring some bottles of piss just in case I need to use them XD

  • @stephanbubbly Why the heck would you need bottles of piss for?

  • @Wisest90

    Team Fortress 2 reference.

  • @Wisest90 what DaL33T5 said

  • Hey have you noticed how there are plenty of programs for firefox that lets you block ads at the start of and pop up during, the youtube video you want to watch, and that when you go to watch most movie clips, the message comes up and says "Embedding disabled by request", but that if you use internet explorer, there aren't any (that I'm aware of) programs to block youtube's ads, but you can still watch clips from movies? Oh well, I'm sure it's _just_ "coincidence". P.S. Fuck you google corp.

  • Marines are not allowed to die without PERMISSION

  • I am in A world of shit

  • Put your rifle around your head, not your head around the rifle.

  • 0.37 forever more

  • I would consider it an honor for R. Lee Ermey to piss on my grave.

  • @Mufaso1000 Given the sheer range of what different people do and don't consider to be an "honor", I almost question why we bother putting the word in the dictionary anymore...

  • @EXRazeBurn : Honor or piss?

  • :13 lol @ pyles neck

  • Finally he told him that he can do something good.

  • So, 4 people still think guns kill and not hard heart...

  • Is that an M14?

  • @NaivePheonix Yeah. It's outdated but we still use it even today.

  • MARINES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DIE WITHOUT PERMISSION!

    then whats happening in iraq?

  • @hmstvmedia not to many people died in iraq compared to vietnam war, ww1, and ww2

  • @hmstvmedia they totally got permission

  • "WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT?!?!?" haha love full metal jacket! Oohrah

  • All of the numbnut fucks that don't know shit about the Military terminology need to shut the fuck up. The term gun is used very loosely by you assholes that could not tell the difference between a pistol or a revolver. A carbine or a rifle. Manual action or semi-automatic or automatic. Clip or Magazine. Howitzer or Mortar or Cannon. Adjustable or Fixed Headspace and Timing. Chain or Rotary or Gatling. Ammunition or Munition. Ball or Tracer or Incendiary or Armor Piercing.

  • @WesOrion Quote worthy stuff right there.

  • @WesOrion Ugh I hate people who call magazines "clips" then I look at their profile and its full of CoD and MW2.

  • To a Marine it's a rifle. All Marines are riflemen, they are not gunmen.

To a Marine it's a cover. They don't wear hats or caps.

To a Marine it's a Drill Instructor. There are no Drill Sergeants in the Corp.

It's a deck, not a floor. It's a bulkhead, not a wall. It's a ladder well, not a stairway. It's a head, not a bathroom. It's the suck, but only if you’re a Marine, any unauthorized use of that term and they'll rip off your head and shit down your neck. OOH RAH...Simper Fi...

  • @armsofjusticellc you are an idiot.good try thought.and simper fi?yea, thats how its said.

  • @Mr910NC You little maggot, I'll bet your mother wears combat boots. You wouldn’t know a rifle if someone butt stroked you in the face with one. And yes, that is how it's said, but also what I get for using spell check. SEMPER FI.

  • The M14, best rifle made.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Yep it was superb and still is. They have modern ones now.

  • @Warpath2198 Yes, M14 EBR, SOCOM II & SOCOM 16.

  • A Marine would never call his rifle a gun. Period. What you non-Marine pukes want to call it is irrelevant.

"This my rifle; this is my gun (touching his dick).

One is for fighting, the other for fun!"

Semper Fi, America, (a once and always leathernecked Marine)

  • The 16 inch guns on Iowa class battleships of WWII were also known

as "rifles" because of grooves cut in the bore to spin the shell as it flew

out the muzzle, making it more accurate. Those grooves are called

"rifling", and every gun made with them is known as a "rifle".

Early cannons had smooth bores, just as muskets and shotguns do

yet today, so they are not rifles. Gunny would know all about this if you

    asked him.

  • @GooglFascists The battleship's main weapon were properly referred to as naval rifles. Only mortors and howitzers can be referred to as guns but mortors are typically referred to as tubes.

  • @Robbob9933 never knew that, thanks pal, i did know they call a firearm a piece though

  • omfg.. seriously?? How stupid, a rifle is a gun, just like a pistol or shotgun, THEYRE ALL GUNS.. just different categories of guns

  • poor private pile haha

  • 3 people died without permission.

  • M14, Nice gun !

  • @PowerRocket100 ITS A RIFLE NOT A GUN, FUCKING FAGGOT GET IT RIGHT

  • @Defy4545 Either you're trolling or you're dumb. If you're dumb, a rifle is a type of gun.

  • @Bluedonut1 ITS A FUCKING RIFLE PERIOD

  • @Defy4545 A rifle is a type of gun. "Gun" is the general term for any projectile-firing weapon with a gunpowder-based firing system. Exert In modern parlance, a gun is a projectile weapon using a hollow, tubular barrel with a closed end—the breech—as the means of directing the projectile (as well as other purposes, for example stabilizing the projectile's trajectory, aiming, as an expansion chamber for propellant, etc.), and firing in a generally flat trajectory.:

  • @Defy4545 It is also a GUN, grow up. Don't judge people idiot !

  • @PowerRocket100 SEMPER DO OR DIE!

  • @PowerRocket100 Defy is right theres a difference between a rifle and a gun

  • They need to remake this movie with a focus on a young Gunnery Sgt Hartman, as he joins the Marines Prior to The Korean War.

  • @dioxviad I think it will be hard to find someone who can act this good as this man... I'm afraid.

  • @dioxviad blasphemy.

  • Because a dead marine is in a world of shit.

  • all this was filmed in britain . kubrick genius

  • 0:51 - no white band on pyle's wrist

    0:56 - white band on pyle's wrist

  • @scoutthecunty LOL I know

  • @scoutthecunty So? Pyle put the band on between sitting and listening and firing his rifle

  • mental test they are really easy you just have to convince them really hard cause they are fuckheads thay will run over your head and say you came at them with a knife and said why so serious and that you have a history of mental illness cant win martin bryant did

  • marines are not allowed to die without permission- agreed

  • Comment removed

  • ew m14s

  • @wallieburger m14s are the life of a marine

  • @SlickedBackRebel88 thought it was m1 garand. nowadays I assume its the m16 but I always thought the symbolic gun of the marine corps was the m1 garand.

  • lol I went to AIT with a PRIVATE PILE.

  • i'd trust my life and family on an m14 beacuse it so god damn good

  • @AfKman101 You've never fired one.

  • @drtranismyman are u sure

  • @drtranismyman not only that it never jammed on me

  • lmao not aloud to die without permission

  • Turn on Transcribe Audio.

"It is a hard heart that kills.">"and those are part of our details"

  • bring the 14 back just a lighter version fuck the m16

  • @usnavysss its an idea to ponder as the three round burst really isnt used any more. I would rather take a 7.62 in combat than a .223

  • "This is my rifle this is my gun"

"This is for fight and this is for fun"

  • Comment removed

  • one of my favourite movies! ..but is this why all US soldiers model themselves on movie characters? and shout "hoorah" and all that?

  • @PalebobUK

The movies are based on life, life isn't based on the movies.

  • @gamewizard i disagree

  • @Gunbarrelguru

Ok so if you're ever in combat or your home town is invaded by enemy troops, just stand there and do nothing and see how fast you end up dead. Idiot.

  • @gamewizard you like talking, don't you? Really I have no idea what the hell you just said because I've been trying to make sense of it, and well, it doesn't make sense. I've been in combat situations, and I don't remember ever just standing there. I was implying that films shape pop culture and therefore shape people. Idiot.

  • @Gunbarrelguru

I posted Kill or be killed and you posted that you disagreed. Make sense now?

  • @PalebobUK woah guy, hoorah is way older than any movie, and these are Marines

  • "It is a hard heart that kills."

  • @liveecarbme

    Kill or be killed.

  • "a gun dosen't kill you the bullet does"-my grandpa

  • THAT IS NOT RIFLE RANGE AT P.I.

  • @bigfatkid49 I know, its the Barton Road Range just outside Cambridge, England. Shot there myself

  • Don't mess with Gunny. He's the kind of guy that would drink a gallon of gasoline just so he could piss in your campfire.

  • Marines are not aloud to dye with out Permeation

  • Yeah it's an outdoor range but firing w/o hearing protection is a recipe for going deaf later in life.

  • @HachiZenki WHAT!!?

  • 5 minutes hes good at using a rifle 5 minutes later hes in a world of SHIT!

  • can you upload the scene where the Lieutenant of lusthog gets get killed outside of HuE city, thanks in advance

  • "...and then you will be in a world of shit..." lol

  • @bsrman36 IM AM... IN A WORLD.... OF SHIT!

  • The deadliest weapon in the world is a marine and his rifle, such a lie, now a british royal marine must be what they mean

  • @CraigyM2k Shut up, ya limey Brit. The U.S.A. will put an M16 so far up your ass you'll have spent casings for teeth.

  • @CraigyM2k no i'm pretty sure he's telling the truth. after all, marines are trained to shoot from 500 yards (that's around 450 meters) with nothing but iron sights

  • @CraigyM2k good one i needed a laugh today

  • M14 :D

  • MARINES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DIE, WITHOUT PERMISSION!

  • AND THEN YOU WILL BE IN A WORLD OF SHIT.
