In Loving Memory of Sophie(Oprah's doG)

I had a black cocker spaniel named "Black Orpheus" who was born in 1992 and who died in 2008. Sophie was his 'pinup' girl. I'm glad Sophie made her transition to the Rainbow Bridge in 2008 along with my Black Orpheus. Now they can be together throughout eternity.

This video gets me every single time. I have three dogs and always think about their own mortality whenever I watch this. I'm glad I watched it just now, though. because I needed a good cry.

Oprah should have been sadder for the golden retriever who died unexpectadly choking on a ball.At least sophie lived a full healthy life.You can't expect more then 10-13 yrs.from a dog.It's sad that god made such a magnificent animal only to have them die so quickly.One of gods mistakes I don't forgive him for.we have to suffer.

@dut071108 If you can't handle it,it's best not to get any.Dogs won't live past 13 so when you get a puppy,you have to prepare yourself for the inevitable.Best thing,contrary to what some say, is to get a few new puppies before the original ones get up there in that all awful 12 -13th year.Make sure you have other young ones to take your mind away. The worst is what I had to go thru when maggie,my german shepherd died at only 9.I didnt have other younger dogs to focus my mind on.

We have a cocker spaniel, Marley. She is one of the loves of our life, along with our poodle, Sadie and they are both a permanent fixture in our family. I love those two so much. I remember seeing this on TV and I just bawled. Dogs make our lives complete, without doubt.

Goodbye Sophie. RIP. Dogs are great and when adopted by a loving family they become a member of the family. My heart goes out to oprah....great show that exposed the ugly truth of how puppy mills really are.

where have you been....under a rock??? she flew to africa and did use her fame and forture to handle the issue. Did you know that a female employee of the school was later charged with 13 counts of assaulting and sexually abusing the students. that was no accident.

my pleasure....i always get choked up inside when i watch this video. although i'm not a pet owner(don't have the time to properly care for one), i strongly believe that a dog is one of GOD's greatest gifts to mankind.

thank you for having this on your page, when i first saw the s how, i went and hugged my cat oreo so much. People take for granted the love that pets give, i.ts uncondiional, you can not be in a good mood and there they are to comfort you, no matter what. I love Dogs as well as cats. my heart goes out to Oprah

In the desciption it says that dog spelled backwards is God. I never thought of that. What a true blessing. Now I know why the dog is the most favored pet and why Oprah is so passionate and loves her dogs very much...this animal gives unconditional love. Just like GOD.

I think I will go out and adopt a dog. I have always wanted one, but just thought it would be too much trouble to care for, but after watching this video, I have changed my mind.
