That's the essence of what made Dinnerladies so damn spot-on.It had some of the funniest scenes of ANY 'comedy' series.Yet at times it had some really poignant reflections too.Victoria Wood absolutely knew exactly what the viewer wanted,& not just in Dinnerladies,in everything she did/does.One of my favourite scenes was when Duncan Preston's character,oh what was his name, was reading his speech to Bren which he intended to read at his father's funeral!
we dont do tuna and sweetcorn we only do tune n sweetcorn. what do you mean? we only do it with an 'n'. lol knife n fork, wallace 'n' gromit, salt 'n' vinegar, baby food. that doesnt have an 'n'! its all mushed up! lol
"Can I just say something? D'you mind? There's some quite big things goin' on in the world: there's rainforests comin' down, polar icecaps meltin', and people livin' in cardboard boxes. You've asked for some dinner and we've given you some. It might not be a perfect dinner, but then it's not a perfect universe. And I think you have to, like, take what you're given, and, like, deal with it. Okay?"

Couldn't she be like Steve Greengrass and pick the sweetcorn out of the tuna? He would've done that.
