I honestly don't know why people are complaining about Atlair's new voice when I was playing the game it grew on me but I do admit his American voice to me sounded more or less serious/merciless especially when he was interogating someone in the first Assassin's Creed but the new voice suits him because his of his Arabic heritage.

What the hell? Altair seems more bad-ass than before. He used to be monotone, and his voice made him sound selfish, even when he had a change in personality around the ending of Assassin's Creed. The voice makes him sound like he actually is the assassin who cared about the Order and cared about saving lives and such. Also, he barely changed in appearance. All you can see is his face, and the change wasn't even bad. Actually, I think it looks even better than ever. He doesn't look American.

If that pronunciation doesn't match up to present-day Arabic, then that's either because the team working on the first AC made a mistake, or because AC1 was not set in present-day Syria. People are not measured by something as arbitrary as how long they've trained. In the end, the skills Ezio and Altair have at assassinating come from within. It literally doesn't matter who'd win in an equal fight (whoever the authors of such a tale want), or who made what. They're both awesome, and both important.

Did you notice that in AC1 Altair's face was a copy of Desmond's? This was because the Abstergo Animus uses the subjects exact face instead of what the ancestor really looked like. So this is your first time seeing Altair's real face, and hearing his voice with an appropriate accent. (Why would an Arab in the crusades have an american accent?)
