  • Clyde is my all time favorite. He really was amazing thanks for the memories clyde

  • 4th assist wasn't an assist coz the dude got fouled?

  • @sherard

nah it counted, because it was goal tending and not a foul where he had to shoot ft's =)

  • At 7:00, I'm guessing somebody's telling Clyde how close he is to the quad double. He gets this expression on his face like "Damn! I had no idea."

  • Maybe the one wiith goaltending didnt count

  • so glad someone put a video of clyde drexler up, showing exactly how he played the game rather than just a dunks highlight reel. even at age 34 he is literally everywhere on the court. My favorite player along with MJ.

  • @hangtime23ful: I also think if Clyde had played for the Lakers (they had a chance to draft him) or perhaps the Rockets with Hakeem and Sampson early in his career, he'd have won more rings and his reputation would have been greater. It pains me to say that Kobe is better because Clyde is probably my favorite player of all time. But Kobe passed him on the all-time shooting guard list back in 2009, IMO.

  • @hangtime23ful: That's tough. I'd say Clyde was the most athletic and by far the best team player. He was one of the greatest SGs of all time when it comes to passing, rebounding, steals and blocks, and was one of the greatest at any position at getting easy baskets. His defense was underrated. Wade might be the best pure scorer of the three, and also an unbelievable athlete. However, I have to go with Kobe because of his skill level on both offense and defense and his resume'..

  • @hangtime23ful: Jan 10th 1986 (more than ten years before this game) Clyde had 26 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 10 steals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

  • LOL. Poor Clyde robbed himself at the end by laying that ball up for the three point play instead of dishing it off to Hakeem. As Rick Adelman once said when Clyde fell just short of 50 points against the Spurs, "he just couldn't deliver."

  • the one your claiming as the 5th assist, is really controversial. Maloney caught the ball outside the three point line, took a couple dribbles , two steps, and then layed it in. He did it in motion but that's what makes in seem iffy.

  • @yungfAme90 I agree. It probably wouldn't have counted as an assist in an European basketball league. Yet the NBA usually give stats away pretty easily, so I think that it should have been an assist. You can probably look it up somewhere, but I think that the rule for the NBA is that a pass counts as an assist if the scorer catches the ball in motion.

  • one of the replays didnt really look like it should be an assist at all so i think nba got that right.. What an amazing team rockets had though..

  • I do remember this game, Hall of fame caliber stuff

  • Terrible.. I will remember this.

  • Man, he is one of those guys that seemingly effortlessly fills up the whole stats sheet.

And to this day i still dont understand how Drexler could see his opponents and teamates when dribbling with his head down at those speeds, hehe.

    Thanks LamarMatic!

  • I remember this game. It was the first one of the season I think. Barkley was suspended for the brawl with Oakley in pre-season. I didn't know he actually had the quad though. Shame because he played a great game and it would be much more recognized if he was credited with just one more assist. Reminds me of that Hakeem quad double vs the Warriorsin 1990 where the NBA took away an assist. I have never seen footage of that game though so I'm not sure if actually got one or not.

  • @stacksondeck34 You were exactly right about everything - it's the season opener and that's the reason why Charles sat out.

  • @hangtime23ful Actually once with the Blazers he came close, that game he was 1 rebound short though.

  • @LamarMatic wow...another great perfonfanmance from clyde...i think should be more videos in youtube of him!yes he was robbed...do u know which assist did n't count?i think the 4th or the 5th

  • @LamarMatic I heard the rule is if the player takes three dribbles than there's no assist, but I heard that during a game last week so maybe the rules were different in '96.
