I've heard that there are several ethnic German communities in North Dakota that didn't assimilate and learn English. I believe that entertainer Lawrence Welk came from among their ranks.
Looks like a very clean town. I've just started looking into ND because a friend of mine is headed there with the oil boom in Williston. Not many people in ND for sure, fewer than 700,000 from what I read. There are at least that many just in my current town of Raleigh.

@TheSanguineOne Bismarck and Mandan are extremely close, so they are practically one city. Imagine for a minute that Bismarck is a Porsche. If that were so, Mandan would be a Pinto. Bismarck:Mandan as Lego:Mega Bloks, Nirvana:Bieber, etc.
Wow it's so boring not really there lots of things to do in biz, I live in Bismarck and find it very fun mostly because I know alot of people who live here
