@oscarmvl I think if he belted it out like he does in the album version it would overpower the rest of the song. He's done it like this in a lot of acoustic versions and I've come to really like it. =)

I've seen this band live numerous times and when it comes down to it all the work put into creating a stage now seems so irrelevant now after watching this performance. Simplicity at its best!

Actually. Its very orchestral to do what they did. If you notice how Ben goes into that higher octave in a lower register, then the second time Brandon come in, in a high register matching his pitch. Ben Kenny might have the most universal knowledge about instruments and he might be a good song writer. But Micky and Brandon have more knowledge about the science of music (and vocals) then the others. There music (this song in particular) has a lot of classical influence. Study it dudes!

The "back up singer" is Ben Kenney. He's the most talented person in Incubus (not to take away from the rest of guys). Listen to his solo records. Personally "Maduro" is my favorite, then "Burn The Tapes" is a close second. Also, why would he go an octave lower than Brandon, when Brandon is singing most of the melody in the lower octave? Step your listening skills up.
