a really good and cheap way to make blood is to buy some corn syrup and ad a bunch of red food coloring, and a few drops of green for darkness.
it looks just like blood, it tastes good so putting it in your mouth for coughing up blood and what not isnt that bad. and since it is sugar based it washed out really easy.
I used corn syrup, water, and corn starch I think it was. It was intentionally pink, but if I let it sit for too long it started to get crusty and almost like clay. Thanks for the tip though ;)
