you dont HAVE to do Jazz for RCM examinations, you do whatever piece you choose from the RCM books or pieces given to you by your teacher. Also you dont have to play piano, you only do exams for your chosen instrument.
@cinderxl Thanks alot man. You don't need to take lessons at the RCM though to get the grade. You can just take examinations learning by yourself I imagine. Where can I find out more info on the material for grade 1 or whatever? I've been playing guitar for years, there are a list of specific songs you can do for each grade? What did you do for grades 1 to 3ish? Thanks for the help!
@FrenchyDuckbill I think you can find all the repetoire for grade 1 - 8 in a series of books called Guitar Repertoire and Studies/Etudes published by The Frederick Harris Music Co. these books includes both repetoire and studies that you can learn for each grade. :D
