  • why arent all the audience members making out with each other? it only seems like the appropriate thing to do,

  • i need a cold beverage now

  • I'm going to buy a Hyundai now.

  • Channeling Prince.

  • YES! This is one of my Youtube faves and it should have at least 3 million views just because it makes you feel good

  • Epic.

  • I love this character....he's just laughing the whole time

  • What's going on with Beck at the end of his fantastic performance? Does he get really emotional about the 'real' Debra?

  • i pissed my self laughing

  • this had to be just a blast to come up with and record

  • 1 person does not want to get with her sister too.

  • as awesome as this is (and it is awesome), it seems like he loses the feel for the track in the middle. i like seeing artists screw things up, it reminds me that its live and that its real, which seems to be lacking in current music.

    just my .02 cents

  • @UEC0101

I was thinking the same thing... seems like he gets completely lost. And if he isn't lost and it's intentional, then its not great sounding.

  • Im so glad Prince influenced so many people

  • Every time this song is played..9 months later..a baby is born.

  • @Petro1734 and that baby will be a badass

  • haha!!! This is kick ass awesome!!!

  • Prince comes to my mind!

  • All I gotta say is... hell yes.

  • Hell yea. That is all.

  • I'd give away everything just to be at one of these..

  • I do like the slow jams

  • zappa & beck = awesome!

  • @solarizer Totally love both of them! :O)

  • smooth and free

  • I love how it's neither completely funny, nor completely serious. The fact that we kind of chuckle and kind of groove to it all at the same time is good place to be. I wonder: who else does that? Frank Zappa maybe? I don't konw. Can anyone else name some more?

  • @bradleydeanwhyte Frank Zappa is all that comes to my mind too!

  • This is so awesome !

  • Although the 70's soulful stylings of this song are right on target, I sometimes, as with this song, don't know if I'm supposed to want to laugh at times. It's almost a parody. Regardless, his album, Sea Change is my favorite, personally. Not that you asked, of course.

  • @spiderwolf9 Haha, I know exactly what you mean.

At the beginning he sounded like a pastor at a church.

  • I need a cold beverage

  • Double kicks make for a fresh beat!

  • Only you..... and your sister

  • modern day genius...

  • I just jizzed

  • That was hot.

  • i think there is a very soulful black woman living inside him...

  • @larryoduncan You made me laugh so hard

  • Freakin Awesome Performance....

  • i love it all. i love the ad lib, too.

    ah....i need a cold beverage.

  • ooh, yeah. This is baby makin' music.

  • Absolutely mind-blowing!!!

  • Jeremiah?

  • Brilliant, briliant, brilliant. Perhaps the best 4 1/2 minutes Beck ever produced. And you're right, paxman. A fantastic band.

  • so amazing, reminds me of Prince.

  • just cant get enough of this song!!love it and him!!!

  • Is not a coincidence that Beck released this album in 1999, cause the whole thing was a love letter to Prince, "Midnight Vultures" is the funkiest album by a white boy.

    Love it!

  • One of my favorite albums!

  • 2nd funkiest, beaten by blood sugar sex magik by RHCP

  • I've always felt deep in my heart Beck was hitting those notes without digital enhancement on the album version, but to be honest I could never truly tell for sure. But finally I have some confirmation of what I thought all along. He nails those notes for sure. Beck continually amazes me even after all these years.

  • this is a showman, baby

  • awesome. I've been looking for this video ever since I saw it when it first aired on PBS back in the 90's. my decade long search is over!

  • gdam..beck is a performing god and his debra performance is empirical proof....i fuckin luv it

  • Yeah, definitely not '99. This looks like that New York show that has some other vids up on here. I think that was from either '97 or '98.

  • debra is one of the BEST beck songs ever and this is probably one of the best versions of it i've seen ever! i saw it performed for years live before it was released on Midnight Vultures. a beck classic!!

  • I think this is from '97.

  • This is from Midnite Vultures, my friend

  • idiotically wonderful white boy

  • one of beck's best renditions and vid's of this song! fantastic entertainment by a fantastic entertainer! would love to have ben there! awesome!

  • fucking awesome. i wish i could see beck perform a midnite vultures show so bad.

  • Me too.

Man those shows must've been amazing.

  • cucumber's comment before mine...crying?.... who give a shit..this is powerful for those that are truely blessed....now have a blessed day...amos N camden sc 29020
