Give the beautiful lyrics, it's surprising he didn't have many more hits. Maybe it was just so extraordinary he couldn't follow it up. Still, we have this one to enjoy - Thank-you Mr Sarstedt, wherever you are.

It's full of French place names, institutions, famous people, etc. Plus it's set to a European-style Waltz. He might be English and singing in English, but it's a very French-sounding song. I was convinced he was French the first time I heard it.
