One of Garfunkel's very best. IMO his best work was with Jimmy Webb as opposed to the dwarf he started out with. Also - Garfunkel is best heard through a quality sound system, not live. I've seen him live - not up to par with the recordings unfortunately.

This album "Scissors Cut" was dedicated to Laurie Bird by Art. They were a couple at one time, unfortunately she took her life at the age of 25. A few of you may remember her as "The Girl" in the movie "Two Lane Blacktop", a definite dvd to add to your collection. The movie is James Taylor's only acting debut, and Dennis Wilson too. A Monte Hellman classic, and Laurie was romantically involved with him too before Art Garfunkel.

This album to me is bitter-sweet.

Just love this song - Theres a few songs that make me feel warm in a strange way when i heard them - This is one . Others are Stephen Bishop "Parked Cars" and Steve Perry "Foolish Heart" - Just listening to this at the foot of the snow capped galtee mountains in the south of Ireland . Wonderful !!!

Thank you so much for putting this. Artie brings me back 27 years, in my little appartment. We had supper with Julie and her boyfriend on Saturday, and then he left her on Monday. She was so so sad, and I see her again with this song. It goes straight to my heart and squeeze it. Time passes, we all vanish from each other's life but songs like this brings Julie right back in my room and I want to warn her of the tears about to come...Let's play it again....

Right - it's the perfect combination. I would add that Linda Ronstadt's version of several Webb songs, "Adios", "I Keep it Hid", and "Shattered" also shine very brightly. Brilliant arrangements and Peter Asher productions on these.
