  • @chevystreetrod1950 Johnny Horton sang a song called "Johnny Reb" which gave tribute to the bravery of the Confederate soldier. Johnny Rebel was a racist singer from decades after Johnny Horton died. It is unfortunate that many people confuse the two.

  • It's available on the 4 CD box set from Bear Family Records. Johnny Horton 1956-1960. It's also available on a Bear Family CD called Rockin' and Rollin' Johnny Horton. This is one of my favorite songs of his. This version is pretty cool.
