I think it is inappropriate to fix years in a racional math , such as saying that will be 7 years. And that the 1000 years government refers to the human 1000, because we know that one day to God is 1000 years old and vice versa.I believe that many of the signs will not be seen but will have clues. If you are serving a god who says give to the poor then why don't I see christians giving away their life savings to random bums if they're so positive a god exists? There is no one pulling strings on you as a puppet. You go as far or as low as you want in life. No fake person has it predetermined. Everyone serves themselves but that doesn't mean you are totally selfish. You can still support people.
My only major concern with the reasoning presented here is that you highlight a method for "eventual" foretelling the return of christ. You say that it's 3 and 1/2 years after a particular event so once that event occurs you can predict the time of return which contradicts the assertion that no man can know the date of the return. I'm not claiming that your religion is wrong, far from it, but I do assert that you have fallen prey to self contradictory views in this particular instance. Cheers.
@wkrepelin No one knows the date and time Christ shall return for his own, but once the rapture has occured and 3 1/3 yrs into the tribulation, events and time will become very clear.

The Bible tells us that this world will pass away, but the good news is that it will be replaced with a much better set of circumstances for those that choose to have a relationship with Christ.

A clear message is provided by how many times he says this. Vanity is - Excessive pride in or admiration of one's own appearance or achievements. - One generation lives then they die, another one comes, then they die, etc. Life can stink but try to be happy about it. Cause we will one day be in God's presence.
Without trying to argue, the Rapture is not found in the Bible, it's not found among early Christian Tradition, it's not found among the writtings of the Chruch Fathers.
The Rapture is never going to happen. There will be a lot of bad things that happen on earth...and we Christians are not going to be Raptured up. We are going to be right here on earth with everyone else.

What I get from this is God is not subject to time, He created it and is outside of it. This is how He is able to prophesy.
Isaiah 46:9-10 "I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done
@gsus787 Context is key. The versus in 2 Peter and Psalm may be poetic in nature, but the ones in Revelation are not. They are giving a historic account of what is going to happen in the future. After reading Revelation 20, it is very obvious that Jesus will be reigning on Earth for a literal 1000 years, it is stressed several times. There are also a large number of other versus in the Old Testament that speak about his Earthly reign.
Scripture also does not teach of a seven year tribulation period at the end of days when the Anti-Christ supposedly appears in the midst of this prophetic week. This Futurist perspective was born in the late 1500 from the Counter Reformation by a Roman Catholic Jesuit Francisco Ribera to divert attention away from the Roman beast. The Reformers did not hold this to be true, but believed the historical interpretation of Daniel 9. Verse 27 refers to Jesus Christ! Not the Anti-Christ!
The psalmist wrote that a generation is threescore and ten years, up to fourscore years..." (Psalms 90:10) Jesus said, "...this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled...." (Matt 24:34) He also said, "those days shall be shortened..." Jesus therefore prophesied His return to take place in FEWER than 80 years after the end of the Jewish diaspora. This is all we know that can't be violated.

I got lost when you said that Christ would return after the 7 year period and if the rapture were to happen tomorrow we would have to wait 1007 years for Judgement Day. Wouldn't we have to wait 1000 years? because after the seven year period Christ comes and now there is only 1000 years remaining.

@bornagain001 No our religion is not based on the Bible, the bible didn't drop out of the sky. The faithful christians had to work out which books belonged in the Bible and which did not. Our religion is based on the faith of who Jesus was and we know this through tradition and the scriptures. We don't sit around and dwell on when the end is going to come because that's not what Jesus taught us to do. The scripture your talking about is not clear on it's meaning, we don't teach if we are unsure.

My only major concern with the reasoning presented here is that you highlight a method for "eventual" foretelling the return of christ. You say that it's 3 and 1/2 years after a particular event so once that event occurs you can predict the time of return which contradicts the assertion that no man can know the date of the return. I'm not claiming that your religion is wrong, far from it, but I do assert that you have fallen prey to self contradictory views in this particular instance. Cheers.

@gsus787 Context is key. The versus in 2 Peter and Psalm may be poetic in nature, but the ones in Revelation are not. They are giving a historic account of what is going to happen in the future. After reading Revelation 20, it is very obvious that Jesus will be reigning on Earth for a literal 1000 years, it is stressed several times. There are also a large number of other versus in the Old Testament that speak about his Earthly reign.

Even if he's a false prophet, it will help to spur some people to maybe reevaluate their life. On the other hand it could send people to commit evil since, 'noone will be around' so to speak. When would the rapture be? Some say before, some say middle some say after?

Somehow, I don't think it's necessary to understand, or even believe, the scriptures in determining when the rapture/end of the world will be. Even as an atheist I can determine precisely when: NEVER!

@bornagain001 No our religion is not based on the Bible, the bible didn't drop out of the sky. The faithful christians had to work out which books belonged in the Bible and which did not. Our religion is based on the faith of who Jesus was and we know this through tradition and the scriptures. We don't sit around and dwell on when the end is going to come because that's not what Jesus taught us to do. The scripture your talking about is not clear on it's meaning, we don't teach if we are unsure.

worry about your SALVATION than the revelation of Jesus Christ. You profit nothing from the endtimes. Your going to get much farther in the holy word of God than knowing every secret and tricks of this wicked and perversed generation (yes I said perversed).
