the most cowardly attack ever!! lets attack people when they are celebrating Christmas!!
Yes that is very brave and very bold.... fuck you! thats like going to a persons birthday party and kill him right in the middle of all his friends and family.
because that whas the time that he at least expected to be killed. And thats exactly what Washington did!! I can't believe that americans actually say: 'Wow!!That was a very brave attack of him! lets commemorate him and put his face on a dollar.'
@padvinder8 its not about bravery bro!!!!!! its about independence!!! its not middle ages right now there is cowardly attacks all over the world!!! I think it was pretty smart way to attack. I am sure if your Country would do that you would be "yea it was pretty smart" (I am not American) just saying
@padvinder8 You do realize that in war there is no day off for celebrating Christmas right? You do realize that when Washington and his men attacked Trenton they were cold, wet, and on the brink of collapse and nothing but the glorious prize of liberty kept them in ranks that night right? I've spent two Christmas Eve nights in a combat zone in my life and you know what I was doing on both of them. I was pulling security on the first and on the second I was on a patrol. \
The Hessians were not drunk. In fact, Raull had issues orders for his troops to be aware of any rebel movements. The weather was cold with periods of rain, sleet, and snow. Two rebel raids had forced Hessian troops out of their baracks and into the cold. Raull ordered his men to stand down and keep warm, an order that would forever change history.
Amen hauptmann. What was more amazing was how they were able to transport the cannons across the river, and I've been there in NJ.
Too cold a river at night, especially in December. And yes, I also celebrate Christmas with friends and family by drinking so I wont judge Gen. Raull for what he did. If he wasn't drunk, well...
thx's for upload this. I'm a hessian too (hessen, a state of germany), and yes, we like to celebrate christmas, and yes, we like to have a trink. so, on this hisorical day, they had some trinks to much and celebrated to heavy. a good day for gen. washington and his men. the rest is history........my respect for both sides.
@Albukhshi it doesnt matter in the end We are Hessians and then we are Germans, just as German as a Prussian, a Saxon, or a Bavarian. My family arnt heavy drinkers, that is the few that do drink. But damn..........we lost :p. in Honor of Jacob Wilhelm Von Volland Noble from Braunfels, who fought in the revolutionary war. my great great great great grandfather :P

Rall's troops weren't "drunk"-jusr exhausted after a night on full alert after a raid by one of Wagington's over-eager colonels.

most cowardly? Hessians massacred surrendering colonials at Long Island, they dont deserve a heads up.

@USMarineRifleman0311 Americans had a history for killing POW's, they well deserved their title as cowards.

@hakob0221
how can you say that, history is always more interesting than the present.
USMarineRifleman0311 5 months ago
@USMarineRifleman0311
the present is more interesting because it leads to the future where we always dont know whats gone happen!
hakob0221 5 months ago
@hakob0221
future is always a pessimistic and depressing prediction. The past is always romanticized, marked by conflict and heroics.
Nothing good is predicted for the US right now, which is why we can always take pride and comfort in a romantic past.
