@DJVirgoNeun So odd. I Finally watched Gypsy 83 yesterday night. Such a great movie. I don't remember how I first heard of it, but I remember it was..Oh, about 5 years ago. So excited when I finally found it last night! :-D I've always loved Stevie Nicks but that movie really brought her much needed admiration. :-D
@DJVirgoNeun and when I said so odd. its cause as I was reading the comments and yours happened to be the most recent and Gypsy 83 did bring me here. lol
Impressive for a demo. Most don't have as much flare or richness in the music. They're usually just a general skeleton of a song to build upon. This sounds like how the live version could possibly come together. Is this off of the "Enchanted" box set?
stevie nicks is the SHIT!!!! ......total bar music, therapeutic on a rainy day in your car, garage looking out into the rain, etc....thinking about life and good times with friends...
My mum has her first three solo albums on vinyl, she was a big fan (it was my dad who bought the Fleetwood Mac albums). I love just about everything off those albums, just so damn catchy, and the lyrics are beautiful pieces of poetry. I love this more then the original, sounds like Mac and not Nicks.
When this song's video came out, it was long after the song started going down the charts. It rose to the top ten without a video. But the video didn't seem to increase any more vital sales.
Okay in the 80`s she came to Tampa on n the rock and little tour if I remember correctly my Dad had got us tickets and stage passes, After the show about 50 people were back stage hounding her for autographs and being me I just sat back and watched everyone swoon over her.
Just about everyone had left and she walked over to me and said hello and asked where can we get good pizza around here?
I knew a place and we all piled onto her tour bus and went and ate pizza...lol
Seems like only yesterday I used to hang out with David Piqquette and John Mc Vie and Stevie in Maui at the Pioneer Inn. Those were high times with Lyndsey Buckingham playing at La Toots Caberet trying out new material til 4:00 am.
Actually this is not the demo. This was her original recording that was going on the album until she re-recorded it at the eleventh hour cuz she felt she didn't get the "right" vocal with this version. But in addition to this, she has a demo which sounds very similar to this but there are differences.
Actually early Belinda Carlisle has some Stevie Nicks Bvs on them without Stevie actually being credited for it. Both Rupert Hine and Jimmy Iovine have worked with Belinda Carlisle so its no surprise that they have a similar sound.
Glad you posted this FT, there really isn't much difference to this demo and the album version until you really listen to it word for word, note for note and Stevie's voice is a lot wilder and freer on this - I love it!
A Little Rock....Stevie was having a bit of trouble singing by this time. She was so noticeably nasal and hitting the high notes was having its way with her. She sounds so amazing now, it's hard to imagine how really bad off she got. What a woman. I really like 'Live In Chicago'. Stevie Nicks is amazing. Now, and then.
If everyone could communicate more effectively, there'd be less fights, divorces, assaults, riots, murders, war, hurt feelings, children crying, people starving.........sorry, this song gets me all emotional. Thanks for posting!
Stevie nicks must have probably the best voice in music . Definately the sexiest !! this is one of the best songs ever .i love it.( this is just my opinion folks) thanks for posting.
Don't you know that you can't please all the people all the time....thanks for the posting...awesome job! Don't listen to the nay sayers....they are idiots.
I've loved Stevie forever, but was never a fan of "Rock a Little." I've always thought it was so over produced. I like this demo because it sounds less produced.....I'll talk to you Stevie.
Would help if you sync the words to the lips, might want to try that next time!!

I have to admit that the released version of Talk to Me is near perfection and one of her best songs, but I just LOVE how this sounds!
