I think to put it simply, moni22ify has got mixed up and has confused 'condemnation' with 'conviction'. there is a big difference. One brings guilt and shame, one brings repentance, freedom and change. On comes from satan (condemnation) and one comes from God, the Holy Spirit (conviction). God bless! I think God does convict us.. as in show us where our faults are so we can change, if his word doesnt convict we wouldnt see where we're going wrong. His word says He doesnt condemn us tho.. ' those in Christ Jesus'

Christ Jesus died for us so we wouldnt have to take that conviction. If God convicted us we would feel guilt, thus that takes away from what Jesus did for us. Its the same as condemn.

Why would God want to convict us, when God really wants to show us love and freedom. I dont know what Kind of God you serve, but the God I serve doesnt convict me by his word, The God I serve shows me Grace and freedom by his word.

God does not convict us. We are convicted of our own sins that testify against us. God on the other hand is putting us to the cross so we can die to that stuff and live in his Son. I feel that we have a misinterpretation of the word conviction. Conviction is the lack of the spirit of God in what we are doing. It is Gods warning that if we continue in our sin he will not be in it. God is holy and as such COMMANDS us to be Holy. He cannot dwell in sin that is why Jesus came.
