The version from "Rave Unto the Year 2000" on DVD, is the MOST INCREDIBLE one ever! It's just amazing. I seriously cry when I watch that one. Prince, truly FEELS what he's singing in this song. Interesting how he changed the words "the Cross" to "The Christ" later on too. Guess he decided which part of the even was more important to focus on!

@ALxtreme It is probably because Prince at that time and now is a Jehovah's Witness. They do not believe that Christ was crucified on a cross..but a stake. Which is actually ridiculous. Also they do not believe that Jesus is divine despite many scriptures that testify of his divinity. I wonder what other lyrics he might have changed.

convinced He was they uphold Christianity and take the Bible out of

context to justify their racial hatred and intolerance, totally

ignoring the command and expectation of God to love one another in
