I marched at TSU fall 99 on them Z's and while SU's selection of cadences did suck that is not what its all about people

I marched at SU, and our drumline had a white guy marching on snare drum just a little over a year ago. We had a white guy on trumpet, and trombone. So I can assure you that our schools are not segregated.

The point I'm trying to prove is that our doors are open to anyone who chooses to audition. Of course you're going to have more blacks given that the schools are majority black. If you watch bands like USC, or Michigan. You will see more whites than blacks, because the majority of the school is white. It only makes sense.

Education is what you make of it, if you go and party for 4 years and drop out without a degree, thats not the school offering a poor education.....its what the student made of their college experience. Also, i know many HBCUs that perform better than PWC's. Morehouse, Howard, FAMU (well.....nvm lol), and Spelman just to name a few.

TSU was established in 1912 as an institution for the "Blacks" as you call them and enrollment as remained predominately " Black". To this day, the ethnic diversity still reamains at approximately 75% "Black", 22% "White" and 3% Other Ethnicities.GO TSU!!!!!

su won because their cadneces sucked but they played it perfectly, tenesee lost because they had a good cadence, however they weren't clean at all they need to work on their chops.
watched the video again, noticed that those are Remo "Legatto" snares, I can see why they tune them low. Freelancers D&B Corps used them, they took forever to tune and would never hold their tuning, and tuned with an allen wrench. Remo went back to making just heads and left making drums to better companies
Why even spend money on high tension snares, if all you do is tune them low? I'm sure someone can find some weatherstripping foam to dampen the bass drums. Both lines sound as if they took their drums out of the factory box and just said, "let's play". Tuning is not a place in Asia.
It depends on what you like....Southern was there Traditional selves and Tennesee State was flat out choppin'..... One Skool to look at though is " Krank " from Uapb, kleanest in the SWAC,.. They breed choppers

If you watch bands like USC, or Michigan. You will see more whites than blacks, because the majority of the school is white. It only makes sense.

@beckhamshotz dude mopst white people dont chose to go to HBCU'S because the education is not as good as if they were to go to a white school. and besides most white people dont even like the HBCU style of marching band anyways. but on occasion you get a few whites in these types of bands. also during band camp is when you will see a lot of white people trying to go out for these drumlines cause they think its easy when its not. so the schools arenot segregated

@TheDragonmaster18 WRONG. i'm white and plan on attending Southern fall 2013. Education is what you make of it, if you go and party for 4 years and drop out without a degree, thats not the school offering a poor education.....its what the student made of their college experience. Also, i know many HBCUs that perform better than PWC's. Morehouse, Howard, FAMU (well.....nvm lol), and Spelman just to name a few.

@beckhamshotz Obviously you need to search out the history of TSU. I'm white and a TSU alumni. TSU was established in 1912 as an institution for the "Blacks" as you call them and enrollment as remained predominately " Black". To this day, the ethnic diversity still reamains at approximately 75% "Black", 22% "White" and 3% Other Ethnicities.GO TSU!!!!!

We are sponsored, so we could use what ever we like. to hell with corp. @beckhamshotz dude its a black school and in HBCU drum sections they always count off out loud. these drum sections like to keep the old school look and sound. and their drums are tuned fine. its just the camera and the building they are in. if they were outside it would've sounded better. and by the way you do relize this is from 2008

watched the video again, noticed that those are Remo "Legatto" snares, I can see why they tune them low. Freelancers D&B Corps used them, they took forever to tune and would never hold their tuning, and tuned with an allen wrench. Remo went back to making just heads and left making drums to better companies

Why even spend money on high tension snares, if all you do is tune them low? I'm sure someone can find some weatherstripping foam to dampen the bass drums. Both lines sound as if they took their drums out of the factory box and just said, "let's play". Tuning is not a place in Asia.
