I'm so glad your pets are finally getting along. :)

A few months ago my friend tried to bring home a new kitten to live with her cat, that she has had for a very long time. The kitties didn't get along at all. It was heart breaking they were loosing fur and wouldn't eat and spent all day hissing at each other. In the end she had to give the kitten away.

So let this be a warning, people please think through wisely before bringing a new kitten home.
