Gays don't want to force everyone else to be gay but Christians do want to force everyone else to do as they believe. The passing and growth of gay marriage only means that the time for the return of Jesus is getting closer if you believe. It drives people crazy that Christian people are not going to judge people personally based on their lifestyle and/or secular law. Its not a wedge between the Church in terms of not respecting people as people even if you don't agree with certain things about their life. Its a personal decision to stay with your convictions as it relates to the teachings of Christ.
Good for Joel for being so calm. Most people start yelling and getting super defensive. I don't agree with him; I believe consenting adults who love each other should be allowed to get married, but I think it is great that he is at least being nice and calm about his viewpoints.

Try reading 1 Corinthians 6:19 for that reference. And as far as your comment saying judge not, lest you be judged. Try reading the rest of the verses after that. It states that you must take the log out of your eye and then you can see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye.

@eichoob2105 1. Corinthians 6: 9-10 is a letter from PAUL (not Jesus) to the Corinthians. 2. If you knew anything about languages or translation, you would know that certain words and phrases can gain or lose meaning during translation. In the original greek Paul used the words "malakoi" and "arsenokoitai" to refer to certain types of sinners. Had he actually intended to mean gays he would have used the word "paiderasste" which was the standard word form homosexuals at the time.

Your problem is, you're a sinner and you love your sin more than God, so you try and come up with excuses so you can feel comfortable living in your sin. If you knew anything about languages or translation, you would know that certain words and phrases can gain or lose meaning during translation. In the original greek Paul used the words "malakoi" and "arsenokoitai" to refer to certain types of sinners. Had he actually intended to mean gays he would have used the word "paiderasste" which was the standard word form homosexuals at the time.

This sort of controversy would be more valid in cases where for example, the law did not allow you to worship God. Contradictions like these ARE addressed in the Bible.
